Join Us as a Director Clinical Pharmacology - Make an Impact at the Forefront of Innovation
The Director Clinical Pharmacology directs and leads operational activities of the Clinical Pharmacology department and evaluates workloads, resources, and technology for efficient operations of the department. The Director Clinical Pharmacology ensures systems are in place to produce quality work, allowing for continual growth of the department. The role also involves providing support for Business Development and Bids and Contracts in the areas of pharmacokinetic and clinical pharmacology.


What You'll Do:
• Participate in project development and FDA meetings concerning investigational and marketed drugs assigned to the department.
• Provide high level of consultancy expertise in study design, pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology for internal departments and clients.
• Manage departmental staff including recruitment, promotion, and termination; allocation/coordination of work assignments; and conflict resolution.
• Promote employee development, completion of performance planning, and provide resources.
• Maintain effective employee relations by ensuring consistent personnel practices within the department.
• Communicate company and department policies and priorities to staff; assure compliance. Assure staff's adherence with good scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards. Assess department's adherence to working practices and SOPs on an ongoing basis. Facilitate changes as needed.
• Provide general infrastructure support to the Clinical Pharmacology Department.
• Assist with long-range strategic planning, and development of departmental business plan and budget. Implement policies regarding performance planning and evaluation for the department.
• Provide support to Business Development and bid & proposal activities.
• Manage staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approve courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Review and approve time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.

Education & Experience Requirements:
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12+ years) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience.
• 5+ years of management responsibility
• Strong leadership skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Demonstrated success working in a multi-disciplinary team setting
• Evidence of strong management skills, as shown through management of multiple projects and staff members
• Proven performance of required tasks, as evidenced by outstanding performance in current tasks and/or documented record of accomplishments
• Ability to ensure that appropriate personnel resources are applied to department projects based on priorities and relative complexity
• Ability to manage intra- and interdepartmental schedules for large pharmacokinetic and clinical pharmacology programs necessary for regulatory submissions
• Knowledgeable of regulatory guidelines as related to clinical pharmacology and pharmacokinetics areas of the drug development
• Excellent knowledge of the drug development process
• Strong theoretical background in pharmacokinetics with experience in application of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in drug development
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Good organizational skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities

Working Conditions and Environment:
• Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical equipment.
• Occasionally drives to site or client locations, occasionally travels within the United States.
• Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions.
