Job Description

About The Position 

The Director, Regional Impact Operations is a member of the One KIPP Delivery (OKD) team and plays a critical role supporting our Regional Impact “pods,” teams of experts who support regional leaders in executing the One KIPP strategy to achieve our shared goals. The OKD Impact Operations ensures regional pod teammates can effectively support, monitor, and hold regional leaders accountable for high-quality implementation of One KIPP initiatives and processes. Reporting to the Vice President, One KIPP Delivery, and partnering closely with the Regional Superintendents, who lead Regional Impact pods, this role is the operational backbone of the pod, combining logistics, data, implementation tracking, and thought partnership to ensure KF collectively supports regions effectively. The Director's primary function is to be a trusted operational partner to the Regional Superintendent, blocking and tackling for them to run the business of the regional pods so they can focus on supporting regional leaders. The Director owns the systems and routines that enable the pod’s success, anticipates and resolves risks before they reach the Regional Superintendent, and demonstrates the independent judgment needed to drive progress with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities 

Pod Logistics & Coordination (Visits, Meetings, SME Deployment) 

  • Ensure assigned OKD regional pods function smoothly through strong scheduling, coordination, and logistics for regional visits, weekly pod meetings, and additional touchpoints. 

  • Alongside their peer Director, design and execute the regular meeting and monitoring cadences and structures needed to best support the pod in achieving its goals.  

  • Actively manage actions, accountability, and follow‑through across pod stakeholders. 

  • Coordinate timely deployment of KIPP Foundation subject‑matter experts into regions so regions receive the right support at the right moment in the initiative lifecycle. 

 

One KIPP Implementation Accountability & Management 

  • Monitor and track regional execution of One KIPP initiatives and core OKD processes, creating the visibility the Regional Superintendent and pod need to stay ahead of risks. 

  • Create systems to proactively flagging risks to timelines, fidelity, or engagement for the Regional Sup and Pod. 

 

Data Management & Reporting Infrastructure 

  • Build and maintain the data reporting and monitoring structures that supports pod operations (ie, weekly academic progress monitoring across the regional portfolio of the pod). 

  • Coordinate with KIPP’s Data & Technology team to develop and maintain regional dashboards and reporting tools. 

  • Ensure Regional Impact leaders have access to timely, accurate implementation data and develop monitoring indicators that surface risks before problems escalate. 

  • Prepare data‑informed materials for meetings, memos, and leadership updates. 

 

Regional Superintendent Support & Thought Partnership 

  • Serve as a thought partner to Regional Superintendent on implementation challenges, sequencing of initiatives, and regional capacity considerations. 

  • Build trust so OKD is viewed as a supportive operational partner rather than a compliance function.

Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 

  • 7+ years of professional experience leading complex initiatives, programs, or implementations. 

  • K-12 schools experience; multi-regional or multi-site school system experience preferred. 

  • Demonstrated experience working with data systems, dashboards, or reporting tools to support decision‑making. 

  • Proven ability to influence and partner effectively with senior, cross functional leaders.

Work Conditions 

  • Travel: Moderate Travel: 25%

  • Full, exempt role 

Location 

It is preferred, but not mandatory for this role to be based out of a KIPP Foundation office. This role also has the option of working from a remote office full-time. KIPP Foundation offices are in NYC and Chicago. 

Compensation and Benefits 

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, and relevant experience. The salary range for this position is  $124,800 - $150,000. In addition, KIPP Foundation provides a variety of benefits to employees, including:  

  • 25 holidays for + 18 days additional flexible PTO days (flexible PTO increases to 23 days for years 3 and 4 and to 28 days for years 5+). 

  • 100% paid parental leave
