Director of Technology & Automation
Forthright Case Management — Reno, Nevada
Salary: $95,000–$100,000 annually + benefits
Build the technology that helps our company scale.
Forthright Case Management is looking for a Director of Technology & Automation to lead the next stage of our technology evolution.
We're not looking for someone whose primary goal is to manage a help desk.
We're looking for someone who sees a five-step manual process and immediately starts wondering how to make it one step, or eliminate it entirely.
This position will own the technology that supports our employees and business operations while helping us use automation, artificial intelligence, integrations, data, and better systems to become more efficient as we grow.
You'll work directly with leadership and employees throughout Forthright to understand how work actually gets done, identify where technology can make it better, and then help make those improvements happen.
What You'll Do
You'll have responsibility across several interconnected areas:
Automation
Identify repetitive work throughout the company and develop practical solutions using automation, system integrations, APIs, and AI.
You'll have the opportunity to automate workflows involving intake, communication, document generation, reporting, task assignment, notifications, data movement, and other business processes.
Business Systems
Become the internal owner of our core software platforms.
You'll improve how systems are configured, connected, documented, and used—and help us decide what technology we should and shouldn't be using.
Data & Reporting
Help turn operational data into useful information.
You'll improve reporting, automate recurring metrics, develop dashboards, and help leadership gain better visibility into the business.
IT Operations
Ensure employees have reliable, secure technology and a great internal technology experience.
You'll oversee devices, accounts, software, access, employee onboarding/offboarding, cloud platforms, documentation, and technology vendors.
Cybersecurity
Serve as our internal cybersecurity owner while working with external security experts where specialized expertise is needed.
You'll oversee access controls, security platforms, policies, assessments, employee security training, vendor risks, and incident-response readiness.
Website & Digital Technology
Own the technical side of our digital infrastructure—including website administration, analytics, tracking, integrations, landing pages, technical SEO, structured data, and emerging GEO/AI-search technologies.
You won't be expected to be our graphic designer or marketing department. You'll make sure the technology behind our marketing works exceptionally well.
Technology Strategy
Work directly with leadership to develop a long-term technology roadmap.
We want someone who can help answer questions like:
- What should we automate next?
- Where is technology creating unnecessary work?
- How can AI meaningfully improve our operations?
- What software are we underutilizing?
- What should our systems look like three years from now?
- What data should leadership have that we don't currently have?
- What should we build, buy, integrate, or outsource?
Who We're Looking For
You may come from business systems, automation, IT, SaaS administration, technology consulting, systems integration, or a similar background.
More important than having a particular job title is your ability to connect technology to real business problems.
You'll probably be a strong fit if:
- you routinely automate repetitive tasks;
- you're comfortable learning unfamiliar software;
- you understand APIs and integrations;
- you can administer business technology yourself;
- you understand cybersecurity fundamentals;
- you enjoy solving operational problems;
- you've worked with cloud/SaaS platforms;
- you can manage outside technical specialists;
- you're equally comfortable talking with an executive and troubleshooting a system;
- you're curious about what AI can realistically do for a business;
- you care about measurable outcomes rather than technology for technology's sake.
Experience with platforms such as Microsoft 365, Power Automate, Zapier, Make, n8n, APIs, AI/LLM tools, Power BI, CRM systems, CMS platforms, Google Analytics/Search Console, MDM tools, or similar technologies would be valuable.
You don't need to be an expert in every technology we use.
We'd rather hire someone who knows how to learn, evaluate, connect, and improve systems than someone whose expertise is limited to one technical platform.
What Makes This Role Different
This is an opportunity to build—not simply maintain.
You'll have visibility across the organization and the ability to identify and implement improvements that directly affect employee productivity, scalability, customer experience, management information, and company growth.
We want technology to help Forthright grow without administrative complexity growing at the same rate.
If that type of challenge sounds interesting, we'd like to hear from you.
Flexible work from home options available.
