Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Procurement to lead and execute procurement strategy for a healthcare organization. This is a remote position responsible for optimizing the acquisition of medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and services while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards. The Director of Procurement will play a critical role in improving supply chain efficiency, managing vendor relationships, and driving cost-effective, high-quality procurement practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives that support organizational goals related to cost control, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee procurement operations for medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and contracted services across the organization.
- Lead vendor relationship management, including contract negotiation, performance oversight, compliance monitoring, and value optimization.
- Partner with clinical, operational, and financial leadership to align procurement strategies with patient care priorities and organizational objectives.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with healthcare regulations, contracting standards, and internal policies.
- Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and supply chain optimization.
- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement staff, fostering accountability, professional growth, and operational excellence.
- Manages the procurement budget, analyzes spending trends and reports on key performance indicators to senior management.
- Oversee RFP processes, contract renewals, supplier evaluations, and risk mitigation efforts.
- Drive continuous improvement by applying industry best practices, benchmarking, and emerging procurement technologies.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of progressive procurement experience, including 3–5 years in healthcare procurement.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare contracting, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization.
- Proficiency with procurement and supply chain systems, data analysis tools, and reporting platforms.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, operational, and executive teams in a remote environment.
- Procurement or supply chain certification (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) strongly preferred.
- Ability to lead change, improve processes, and adapt to evolving healthcare supply chain demands.
