Director of Finance & Business Performance

Job Description

We're rebuilding the finance function of a multi-location food-service business from the ground up, and we need a finance executive who wants to lead that transformation personally — not just report on it.

This isn't a caretaker CFO role. You'll take over the finance function, protect the essentials (cash, payroll, compliance), and turn finance into a real-time engine for decisions across the business. Once things are stable and running well, you'll have the option to stay embedded, build a successor, or expand into wider work across our portfolio.

What You'll Own

• Lead the complete finance function through a hands-on transition
  

• Build accurate, controlled financial reporting and protect cash and payroll
  

• Own budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash planning
  

• Make profitability visible by location, brand, channel, and product
  

• Evaluate pricing, promotions, and investment decisions with real business cases
  

• Redesign the finance team's structure, systems, and controls — and eventually build your own successor
  

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally at CFO level
  

• A track record improving profitability, forecasting, and cash management
  

• Strong commercial instincts — pricing, unit economics, investment analysis
  

• Advanced, hands-on use of AI and modern finance tools
  

• Professional finance/accounting qualification strongly preferred
  

Bonus Points

• Experience inside a complex, multi-location hospitality, retail, or restaurant business
  

• Client-facing advisory or consulting experience
  

• History of challenging executives with hard evidence, not just opinions
