About Springbrook Software
Springbrook Software is a leading provider of ERP, billing, and financial management solutions purpose-built for local governments and utilities. We empower thousands of public agencies to serve their communities more efficiently through modern, cloud-based technology. Our marketing team plays a critical role in connecting Springbrook's solutions with the agencies that need them most.
Position Summary
The Director of Field Marketing is a senior, high-impact, revenue-focused leader responsible for building and executing market-facing programs that generate pipeline, accelerate deals, and strengthen Springbrook's presence across key industry associations and events. This is a highly visible role requiring significant travel-the Director will be present on the ground at trade shows, industry conferences, and field events throughout the year, serving as a senior face of Springbrook in the market.
This individual leads closely with Sales and Marketing leadership to design and deliver experiences and activations -from national trade shows to intimate executive dinners-that move prospects and customers through the funnel. As a director, this role is also responsible for building scalable processes, tactical execution, managing vendor and agency relationships, and contributing to broader marketing strategy.
Travel Expectation: This role requires substantial travel-70–80% annually. The Director of Field Marketing is expected to attend the majority of Springbrook's trade show and conference portfolio in person, as well as regional field events and customer engagements. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent, often consecutive weeks of travel, particularly during peak conference seasons (spring and fall).
Key Responsibilities
Trade Show & Conference Leadership
- Own end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of Springbrook's presence at trade shows, industry conferences, and public sector summits-attending the majority of these events in person.
- Oversee exhibit logistics including booth design, shipping, vendor coordination, staffing schedules, and on-site operations; set the standard for Springbrook's on-the-ground presence.
- Partner with the VP of Growth and Sales leadership to define priority events, set and track measurable goals, and ensure strong lead capture and follow-up processes are in place.
- Track and report on event ROI, pipeline contribution, and post-event outcomes; deliver executive-level recaps and recommendations.
- Own the annual trade show calendar and associated budget; make strategic investment decisions across the event portfolio.
- Lead planning and execution of Activate, Springbrook's annual customer conference, in partnership with internal stakeholders.
Sales Field Events - Pipeline & Revenue
- Design and execute targeted field events that support pipeline creation and deal acceleration, including regional executive dinners, happy hours, prospect roundtables, and customer appreciation events-attending events in person as appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with VP of Growth and regional Sales teams to identify high-value accounts, customize event themes, and drive attendance from target personas.
- Manage all logistics: venue selection, catering, invitations, AV, speakers, and post-event follow-up enablement for Sales.
- Build repeatable, scalable event playbooks that can be deployed across regions without requiring white-glove management each time.
- Measure and report on pipeline influenced, opportunities created, and revenue closed as a result of field events; hold the function accountable to pipeline targets.
Association Memberships & Sponsorships
- Lead Springbrook's portfolio of industry association memberships (e.g., GFOA, AWWA, APWA, state municipal leagues) including renewals, benefit activation, and senior-level relationship management.
- Identify and negotiate sponsorship opportunities within associations that maximize brand visibility and qualified lead generation.
- Represent Springbrook at association events and meetings, cultivating relationships with key staff and member organizations.
- Coordinate association-sponsored speaking opportunities, webinars, and thought leadership contributions in partnership with subject matter experts.
- Serve as the internal point of contact and subject matter expert for association strategy and engagement.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a senior marketing leader and strategic thought partner to the VP of Growth, contributing to overall go-to-market planning.
- Partner with Product Marketing to ensure field programs align with campaigns, messaging, and product priorities.
- Provide Sales teams with pre-event briefs, competitive talking points, and post-event follow-up assets.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and event partners; hold partners accountable to quality and budget.
- Maintain accurate event and contact data in CRM (Salesforce) and contribute to marketing attribution reporting.
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of experience in field marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS or enterprise software, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Demonstrated success managing trade shows and corporate events from strategy through post-event reporting at scale.
- Experience designing and executing sales-focused field events with measurable pipeline results.
- Proven ability to function as a senior individual contributor and thought partner to sales and marketing leadership.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously across a complex event calendar.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable and credible representing Springbrook externally at senior levels.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and marketing automation platforms.
- Willingness and ability to travel 50–60% annually, including frequent trade shows, conferences, and field events throughout the year. This is a core requirement of the role.
Preferred
- Experience marketing to local government, public utilities, or public sector organizations.
- Familiarity with industry associations such as GFOA, APWA, or AWWA.
- Experience with event management platforms (e.g., Cvent).
- Knowledge of ABM (Account-Based Marketing) strategies and tools.
- Experience building or scaling a field marketing function.
How Success Is Measured
- Pipeline created and influenced from field programs, measured quarterly against targets.
- Revenue closed from field-sourced or field-influenced opportunities.
- Event execution quality: on-time, on-budget delivery with strong stakeholder and attendee satisfaction.
- Association membership ROI: leads, speaking opportunities, and brand visibility generated.
- Quality and scalability of event playbooks and repeatable processes built.
