What You’ll Do:

The Director of Business Development shall display high levels of energy and drive go-to-market planning and execution, revenue generation, constantly seeking new opportunities, engage potential customers or partners, and close deals to grow the business. This includes developing and executing strategic business development strategies that align with the business plans of specific offices, regions, industry verticals and the Company. These strategies will include identifying (market research), prospecting, development of new and existing clients, suppliers, trade partners, and communicating SVT’s value proposition to win new business. This role may require coordination with the account management team to meet corporate or regional goals. In addition, helping lead and engage seller-doers to build client relationships is expected. This position will work closely with business development coordinators as well as marketing/communications to coordinate conferences and events.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop long-term client relationships that lead to new SVT Captive Shop and SVT Truck Center opportunities.
  • Perform comprehensive needs assessment of prospective customers, create, price and propose respective solutions.
  • Qualify opportunities and inform others during go/no-go meetings to increase the win ratio on new opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed retention targets and sales quotas for new clients.
  • Direct involvement with new client startups, account management and retention of existing clients.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership to implement strategic sales plans.
  • Develop and execute annual business development plans that align with the office, region, and company growth goals
  • Build the SVT brand via coordination with senior management team and marketing staff to organize and attend tradeshows, networking events, client entertainment and participate in social media strategies.
  • Join, participate, and attend industry associations, boards and/or committees that will further enhance your network and further build the industry brand for SVT
  • Collaborate with strategic marketing and the sales and services teams
  • Evaluate local, regional, and national competition and identify their strengths and weaknesses
  • Maintain and update CRM to track client activity, leads, opportunities and provide pipeline updates

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business development role
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including great listening skills
  • Strong team building and functional skills.
  • Executive level presence with an ability to interact and present effective written and verbal communications
  • Sales or business management experience
  • Strong leadership/coordination ability in a matrixed environment
  • Experienced in driving customer allegiance and growing existing customer base
  • /understanding a service or services related business
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Excellent skills in the areas of time management and organization          

 

Compensation: 

  • Base Salary: $135K-$140K (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Plus Commission plan
  • Full-time position

 

 Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to pass post offer drug test, physical and background check
