The Strategic HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a trusted advisor to the businesses they serve including the business leadership, aligning human resources strategies with business objectives to drive organizational performance, growth, and culture. This role goes beyond traditional HR support by proactively shaping workforce strategy, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
The Director will be primarily responsible working with and under the guidance of SVP HR and key leaders to ensure supporting successful business outcomes for assigned client areas.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership
- Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support organizational goals
- Act as a consultant on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management
- Translate business needs into scalable HR solutions
Talent Management & Development
- Partner with the business on strategies to build bench strength, people continuity plans, and developing the talent within their client groups in partnership with the Talent Management team.
- Identify skill gaps and build targeted development initiatives to close those gaps and create career pathways
- Drive a performance and accountability-driven culture daily and with the MIT and performance management processes and continuous feedback culture ongoing.
- Build talent acquisition strategies for client areas (partnering with TA COE) in order to attract, develop and retain high performing/potential employees
Organizational Effectiveness
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, productivity, and retention
- Use data and analytics to inform decisions and measure HR impact
- Guide leaders through transformation, restructuring, or growth initiatives
Employee Relations & Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment
- Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues and led these complex investigations to resolution
- Champion company values and culture across the organization
Change Management
- Lead and support change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and adoption
- Equip leaders with tools and frameworks to manage change successfully
HR Programs & Operations
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) such as Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and L&D to ensure alignment of HR strategy and Business goals, to improve talent results, and create a consistent team member experience.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices to ensure competitive and equitable experience.
- Work within and partner with the HR team members across the HR Operating model, leveraging HR Service delivery for client areas and ensuring day-to-day inquiries are directed accordingly to increase the speed to result and increased organization effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and ethical standards, mitigate employee relations risks and/or partner with legal and compliance when needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Human Resources Business Partner position, ideally with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Must have experience with transformational change.
- Preferred to have some experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, SaaS and/or similar industires.
- Deep understanding of the business unit's goals, industry, and financial drivers. market trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in supporting a geographically diversified client group population/business
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient in HRIS (preferably having experience and/or exposure to Workday)
- Full-time position, with standard office hours and occasional additional hours as needed.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data & derive insights to inform business decisions
- Experience designing, implementing & communicating benefits and compensation with US scope
- Working functional knowledge of local legal environments
- Proven ability to structure priorities and deliver within high pressure, business critical environments.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical delivery for employee and stakeholder satisfaction.
- High degree and knowledge reference to their field of expertise
- Ability to manage conflict situations effectively with diplomacy and sensitivity
- Excellent listening, organizational (verbal & written) communication skills
- Strong work ethic, commitment to quality, & proven follow-through skills. Multitasking talents and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under changing priorities and demands; Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and excellent verbal/written communication & presentation skills; Must be fluent English (written and verbal);
- Experience collaborating with HR Business Partners & developing other HR Generalists/team members
- Travel will be required quarterly to offices and as needed upon the job requirement.
- Other duties as assigned/the business evolves
Locations: Preferred hybrid to Jeffersonville, IN location or Morrisville, NC with 2 days in office per week, if within 30 miles from the office. Otherwise, the position may be considered for Remote working.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
- Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
