Specific Accountabilities

Content development to support donor partnerships
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality donor reports, progress updates, and other relevant communications to support CAMFED’s relationship with a portfolio of strategic, US-based funding partners. This could include coordinating input from colleagues internationally/across functions, and drafting report documentation as appropriate, particularly narrative reports, as well as responses to donor queries.

  • Provide quality assurance on the output of other team members through review of key reports and other donor communications, with a particular eye to accuracy and clarity.

Alignment of implementation to donor expectations and requirements
  • Conduct regular reviews of grants, partnering with colleagues in CAMFED offices in Africa to ensure that donor intentions, expectations, and compliance with regulatory and donor requirements are reflected in implementation; and supporting the optimal use of funds to maximize the impact achieved for CAMFED’s clients and partner communities. This could include reviewing financial and programmatic information to support work planning and tracking progress and budget management.

  • Skilled communicator, with an ability to write clear and impact-focused narratives for a range of donor audiences, with close attention to detail.

  • Comfort with analysis and interpretation of data, including through financial and impact documents.

  • Collaborative project manager, able to draw people together around complex, multi-component projects, make things happen, and follow through, while holding the bigger picture in view.

  • Organized and responsive, with a proven ability to proactively progress multiple workstreams, prioritize tasks independently and work to tight deadlines.
