NetMidas is a technology staffing company based in Cali, Colombia, since 2007. We have worked with many clients, including large multinationals (including Apple), startups, banks, and agencies. We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to collaborate closely with an exciting international client.
Species360, a global non-profit that develops mission-critical software for wildlife care and conservation, is looking to strengthen its engineering team. The company supports zoos, aquariums, and conservation organizations worldwide by providing reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions.
The DevSecOps Engineer will ensure the reliability, availability, performance, and security of systems and applications. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure and processes, leveraging automation and best practices in DevSecOps.
Must Have:
Strong ability to communicate in English (Professional proficiency).
Previous experience working with international clients.
Minimum 1 year of experience in DevSecOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
Experience with hybrid infrastructure (on-premise servers and cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure).
Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of networking, storage, and databases across cloud/on-prem environments.
Experience with DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
Strong scripting/automation skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Knowledge of security principles and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST).

Nice to have:
Familiarity with service reliability engineering metrics (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets).
Experience with incident response and root cause analysis.
Prior exposure to security audits and risk assessments.
Monitor production systems to ensure availability and reliability.
Respond to alerts and incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive actions.
Develop and maintain automation scripts, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure provisioning.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure consistency and automation across environments.
Configure and maintain observability tools for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
Participate in on-call rotations to manage incidents and service restorations.
Collaborate with engineering and data teams to forecast resources and optimize infrastructure performance.
Implement and enforce security best practices to protect applications and infrastructure.
Contribute to knowledge sharing via documentation, pairing, and code reviews.
Compensation: attractive comp in USD per hour, paid monthly.
Contract: 3 months initially, freelance, with our company in the US (may be extended depending on project needs).
Full-time position (8 hours/day).
