About the role:
We are looking for a curious and research-driven Deal Sourcing Intern to help us identify hidden gems in the retail and professional services sectors.
You'll focus on finding and pre-qualifying small businesses that have been declining or failing to sell. Your primary mission is to find sellers open to offering 50-80%+ seller financing for the acquisition of their business.
This is an amazing opportunity for students eyeing careers in Private Equity or aspiring entrepreneurs wanting to learn the ETA process.
What you’ll do:
Identify on- and off-market retail and professional service shops through niche directories, trade associations, and legacy forums.
Research businesses to identify markers of owner fatigue or succession challenges.
Screen and pre-qualify opportunities based on the owner's willingness to accept high levels of seller-carry financing.
Organize findings in a CRM (Monday, Attio, HubSpot) and assist with some outreach to motivated sellers.
You’re a fit if you:
Are a curious mind who enjoys unconventional research to find information others miss.
Have a baseline understanding of key financial ratios and an interest in M&A or search funds.
Possess strong communication skills and the maturity to engage with business owners.
Are detail-oriented and enjoy managing a data-driven pipeline.
