Job Summary:

Under direct supervision of the OCWI Deputy Chief, this position works with Office of Child Welfare Investigations (OCWI) Investigators with the goal of providing protection and safety. This position is responsible for a variety of difficult tasks and provides necessary qualitative and quantitative support to the section. Further, assists the OCWI Management Analyst with tasks in order to ensure fluidity of data collection and tracking.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Oversees the performance management system including but not limited to tiered visual management, scorecards, and unit huddle boards. Exports daily, weekly and monthly data and performance reports. Complies information using Excel and Guardian and analyzes data in order to identify trends, patterns and sustainment. Creates and disseminates reports/recommendations based on findings.

  • Completes assessment review guides including reviewing assessments moving into and out of the region within 72 hours of assignment. Makes region changes and corrections and leads staff to complete missing findings, missing disposition, missing notes from current reports/data.
    Attends and participates in statewide Program Specialist meetings. Attends regional supervisor meetings and statewide management conferences, workshops, seminars and training sessions offered by the agency.

  • Conduct office visits to provide technical assistance, training, refresher courses, inventory, minor maintenance and problem analysis.

  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge Of:

  • Federal and state laws, statutes, regulations and directives governing Department of Child Safety (DCS) Services
  • Arizona's child safety model
  • Policies, standards, and procedures with particular emphasis in the Guardian system to ensure relevancy and reliability of data
  • Management principles, concepts, and techniques and their practical applications
  • Mainframe systems such as Guardian and Arizona Technical Eligibility Computer System (AZTECS)
  • Computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Subject matter expert in Guardian
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel

  • Gathering and analyzing facts, drawing conclusions and making recommendations to management (i.e. data extraction for trend analysis)

Selective Preference(s):

Masters or Bachelors degree in Social Work or related field and three (3) years of DCS experience in child protective services or three (3) years of OCWI Investigator experience.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Requires the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration. Mileage may be reimbursed, if applicable.

The ability to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card; and the ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
