The Data Project Manager coordinates client and internal data-centric projects, including architecture, migration, and BI delivery. They act as the primary liaison between delivery teams and stakeholders while managing project plans, budgets, and risks.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

At Pandoblox, the Data Project Manager plays a central role in coordinating both client and internal projects, with particular emphasis on data-centric engagements — including data architecture, migration, ETL/pipeline builds, and BI/dashboarding delivery. This role sits at the intersection of structured project delivery and technical data work, requiring someone who can speak fluently to data architects and engineers while still owning the project plan, budget, and client communication. You will manage multiple concurrent projects in a well-organized, efficient, and professional manner, acting as a primary liaison between the Organization's delivery teams and its client stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you'll get to...

  • manage the people, tasks, and external resources for assigned data projects within the defined tolerances
  • ensure the project team is defined and staffed appropriately, and that the appropriate internal and external services (data engineers, architects, analysts) are obtained to meet project objectives
  • coordinate data architecture, migration, and ETL/pipeline workstreams, translating technical scope into a clear project plan and timeline
  • support the delivery of BI/dashboarding engagements alongside data infrastructure work, coordinating between engineering, design, and client stakeholders
  • comply with all System Development/Project Life Cycle, Change Management, Regulatory, and applicable data privacy/security requirements
  • provide oversight of the analysis, development, implementation, and maintenance of data systems and applications
  • communicate with users, IT, and senior-level management concerning project progress, concerns, and issues, and manage stakeholders' expectations
  • ensure all project requirements and/or objectives — including data quality, validation, and governance checkpoints — are properly defined and documented
  • establish, build, and update project plans with actuals and forecasts; manage deviations from the plan and identify and manage project risk
  • act as a primary liaison between the data/engineering division and the various stakeholders
  • maintain project and task tracking in the Organization's core PM tools (e.g., ClickUp for tasks, Harvest/Forecast for time-tracking and burndown reporting)
  • express information effectively through clear and convincing oral and written presentations, including translating technical data concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • perform other duties as needed by the role

REQUIREMENTS:

On day one, we'll expect you to...

  • have a bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • have a minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience, including exposure to data, analytics, or BI/dashboarding engagements
  • possess solid knowledge of project management frameworks, tools, and practices
  • have working knowledge of data architecture, ETL/pipeline concepts, and data warehouse or migration project fundamentals — enough to scope, sequence, and de-risk technical workstreams
  • have exposure to SQL and relational databases sufficient to understand data models and ask informed technical questions
  • have familiarity with BI/dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar) from a delivery-coordination standpoint
  • be comfortable working in ClickUp (or a comparable task-tracking tool) and Harvest/Forecast (or a comparable time-tracking and forecasting platform)
  • be experienced in project budgeting, design, scheduling, and documentation
  • have good business analysis skills
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • have strong management skills and the ability to lead and motivate project teams
  • demonstrate the ability to build and manage relationships with customers and all stakeholders across business units
  • be experienced in supervising a matrix team of associates, contractors, and vendors with various skills and disciplines
  • have the ability to coordinate/participate on multiple projects in a well-organized, efficient, and professional manner
  • be able to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize responsibilities, leveraging time management and problem-solving skills to perform assigned tasks with reasonable levels of self-direction
  • have keen attention to detail and focus on task completion, particularly around data accuracy and validation
  • have a fully functional and up-to-date computer with which to perform duties
  • be willing to install next-generation endpoint protection on the computer
  • be a current resident of the Philippines and able to perform work from there
  • be willing to work within US Pacific business hours (8am–5pm PT, which corresponds to Philippine hours per the Organization's seasonal schedule)

What separate the best from the rest...

  • multiple industry exposure
  • PMP certification
  • agile experience and certification
  • Six Sigma certification
  • experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar)
  • prior hands-on data engineering or data analyst background before moving into project management
  • experience with data governance frameworks and data privacy/compliance considerations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • experience delivering dashboarding/observability engagements
  • experience supporting both waterfall data projects (e.g., migrations, assessments) and recurring/managed data services within the same portfolio

NOTES:

  • Benefits await full-time contractors.
  • This is a remote (work from home) position.
