What you will be doing:

We are looking for a Data Engineering Architect to lead the design and evolution of scalable, high-performance data platforms and engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong architectural experience with strong hands-on experience in Databricks, Apache Spark, Python, and SQL. This role will be responsible for defining data architecture strategies, establishing engineering standards, making technology decisions, and guiding development teams in building reliable, scalable, and maintainable data solutions.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of modern lakehouse architectures, distributed data processing, ETL/ELT patterns, data modeling, performance optimization, and cloud-based data platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of senior-level experience in Data Engineering with 2+ in Data Architecture. 

• Experience designing and leading the architecture of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms and data pipelines.

• Experience with architectural patterns for data ingestion, transformation, processing, storage, and consumption.

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.

• Advanced Python programming skills.

• Strong SQL development and optimization skills.

• Strong experience with Apache Spark / PySpark.

• Experience designing and implementing scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.

• Experience working with large datasets and distributed data processing.

• Strong understanding of data engineering principles, data modeling, and data quality.

• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize data processing workloads.

Nice to have 

• Experience with Snowflake.

• Experience with AI Agents and Code AI tools like Claude. 

• Experience with AWS data services and cloud environments.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Experience with dbt and modern ELT/data transformation practices.

• Familiarity with cloud-based data lakehouse architectures.

• Experience implementing CI/CD and automated testing for data pipelines.

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate, diagram and document complex engineering concepts.
