About The Role

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Scope

Knight Frank are seeking a candidate for the role of Data Analyst to join our Data & Analytics APAC team. The teamis headquartered in Singapore with analysts based in Kuala Lumpur supporting projects across the region and, where required, EMEA. This is an exciting role for someone who likes a dynamic environment where they can build new tools, share new ideas and improve how we deliver our work.

The analyst will support projects across portfolio services, tenant representation and BD assignment / pitches. The role will involve collecting, cleaning, and structuring data; undertaking financial, portfolio, workplace, economic, demographic and travel analysis; and presenting findings through dashboards, reports and presentations. . The expectation is to cover all sectors as the team develops and grows.

What we are looking for:

  • A BSc, Master’s degree or equivalent experience in any subject that demonstrates an ability to analyse data and/or patterns and trends (e.g Economics, Finance, Geography, Maths or Data Analytics)A BSc, Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a subject that demonstrates an ability to analyse data and identify patterns and trends (e.g. Economics, Finance, Geography, Mathematics or Data Analytics)
  • A self-motivated individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a determination to succeed

  • Passionate and strong interest in the future of real estate work, technology, social trends and current affairs.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality
  • Flexibility and ability to balance a variety of demands
  • Strong MS Excel (intermediate level and above), including experience working with structured datasets and PivotTables. Candidates may be assessed in this area.
  • Knowledge of Power BI or another data visualisation tool would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of ERSi ArcGIS or another mapping tool would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • Excellent graphical and numerical skills in interpreting and presenting data in Power Point, Excel, Word etc. We do not expect candidates to have experience across every capability listed; selection will focus on analytical strength, the areas in which candidates can contribute immediately, and their potential to develop further.

What you will be doing:

  • Portfolio and Benchmarking analysis –collecting, cleaning and analysing portfolio data, presenting performance through dashboards and reports, and identifying potential savings opportunities
  • Location analysis – where should our clients be located? Combination of non-economic and economic analysis (demographic profile, labour analysis, competitors and clients mapping, financial appraisal).
  • Geospatial analysis – preparing data and supporting commute, accessibility and labour-density analysis alongside geospatial specialists
  • Financial Modelling – conducting all type of financial analysis (Cash Flow, P&L, NPV) to support business cases for strategies and real-estate transactions (lease acquisitions, disposals, subleases, renewals & renegotiations, provisions calculations, etc.)
  • Developing analytics tools and templates including the use of Power BI and other suitable technologies
  • Scenario analysis and sensitivity testing
  • Preparing and presenting clear reports and analysis for project teams, senior management and clients.
  • Visualisation of data to support business cases, reports and presentations
