Divisional Overvie 
Wholesale Core Services Software Engineering is the engineering enablement division responsible for creating the platforms, SDKs, frameworks, tools, and standards that accelerate software delivery across the Wholesale business.
The division solves systemic engineering challenges by improving developer productivity, simplifying technology adoption, standardizing software engineering practices, and enabling teams to build secure, scalable, resilient, and high-quality services efficiently. 

Business Overview :
The division operates as an internal engineering platform and transformation function for the Wholesale organization. It provides reusable capabilities that allow product and engineering teams to focus on business outcomes rather than repeatedly solving foundational technology problems.
Its core responsibilities include:
• Building internal developer platforms, golden paths, SDKs, frameworks, and reusable engineering components.
• Improving the full developer lifecycle, from project initiation and local development to testing, deployment, observability, and operations.
• Establishing firm-wide software engineering practices, architecture patterns, coding standards, and delivery principles.
• Solving cross-cutting engineering problems related to scalability, reliability, security, automation, cloud adoption, and service integration.
• Enabling consistent engineering experiences across teams, technologies, and delivery environments.
• Embedding quality, resilience, compliance, and operational excellence into the software development process.
• Providing self-service capabilities that reduce cognitive load, duplication, delivery friction, and time to market.
• Driving engineering modernization through automation, AI-assisted development, platform engineering, and developer experience initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, Develop and Manage.
  • Scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Python to effectively elevate the overall software engineering experience.
  • Distributed systems with advanced microservices patterns.
  • Applications on Kubernetes clusters with comprehensive container orchestration.
  • AI-powered features using Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI workflows
  • Autonomous AI agents with multi-step reasoning, tool usage, and decision-making capabilities
  • Multi-agent systems with agent orchestration, communication protocols, and collaborative workflows
  • Implement agentic workflows including planning, execution, reflection, and self-correction mechanisms
  • Optimize RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) pipelines integrated with agentic systems
  • Vector databases for efficient similarity search and document retrieval
  • Embedding systems for text and data processing
  • AI agents with external tools and APIs for enhanced functionality and automation.
• Practice Test-Driven Development (TDD) with comprehensive unit, integration, and contract testing
• Apply DevOps and platform engineering principles including infrastructure as code, automated deployments, and monitoring.
• Design and implement efficient data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intelligent software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues in distributed environments.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Expertise

• Python, Java and Spring Boot expertise with microservices development.
• Strong experience with Micro-service Architecture & Event-driven architecture with advanced microservices patterns.
• Strong in Distributed systems design and implementation experience.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and various test integration frameworks.
• DevOps/Platform Engineering skills including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and monitoring.
• Kubernetes proficiency including deployment, scaling, and service mesh technologies.

AI/ML Expertise

• Advanced Python development skills, including experience with below (but not limited to):
  • LangChain, LangGraph or similar LLM frameworks
  • Hugging Face transformers
  • Vector databases (Qdrant, Weaviate, or similar)
  • Embedding models (OpenAI, BERT, or similar)
• Agent Frameworks: LangGraph, AutoGen, or custom agent implementations
• Multi-Agent Systems: Agent communication, coordination, task delegation, and collaborative problem-solving
• Agentic Workflows: Planning agents, execution agents, reflection mechanisms, and self-correction loops
• Agent Memory Systems: Short-term and long-term memory, conversation history, and context management
• Tool Integration: API calling, database queries, file operations, and external service interactions
• Agent Orchestration: Workflow management, state machines, and conditional execution paths
• Core RAG Components: Document chunking, embedding generation, vector similarity search, and LLM prompt engineering
• Advanced Patterns: Multi-Query RAG, Hybrid retrieval (BM25 + Neural Search), Parent-Child chunking, and Query decomposition
• Pipeline Optimization: Text splitters, embedding integration, vector store operations, query routing, and response synthesis
• Enhancement Techniques: Auto-merging chunks, semantic routing, context optimization, re-ranking mechanisms, and multi-vector retrieval
• Agentic RAG: Integration of RAG systems with autonomous agents for dynamic information retrieval and processing

Below skills have added advantage:

• Hands-on experience with:
  • Advanced agentic patterns: ReAct, Chain-of-Thought, Tree of Thoughts, and self-reflection.
  • Agent monitoring and observability: Agent performance tracking, decision logging, and failure analysis.
  • Semantic search implementations.
  • Knowledge graphs and ontologies.
  • Stream processing for real-time AI applications.
  • Human-in-the-loop systems and agent supervision mechanisms.
• Distributed tracing
• MLOps practices and tools
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm)
• Working experience with AWS, or equivalent public cloud.
