What We Do at Weir

We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably.

Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. That is why we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we are driving the shift to smarter, more efficient, and sustainable mining.

Make Your Impact

You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. Using your expertise, you will help deliver results that matter, whether through technology, planning, innovation, or collaboration. You’ll work with purpose, learn continuously, and contribute to a more sustainable future.

What You'll Do

  • Portfolio Ownership & Roadmap Delivery: Own the enterprise Data & AI BAU portfolio and prioritisation cycles, maintaining a rolling roadmap aligned with enterprise objectives and S4+ programme constraints. Lead demand intake, triage, and prioritisation processes, ensuring transparent decision-making and preventing duplication or divergence from target data standards and architecture.
  • Delivery Accountability: Take accountability for Data, Analytics, and AI delivery outcomes. Establish outcome-focused governance, including objectives, acceptance criteria, and definitions of success. Monitor delivery performance, dependencies, and risks, escalating issues that may impact programme milestones or enterprise standards.
  • AI Enablement & Adoption: Lead the adoption of AI across BAU activities by managing an AI use-case pipeline supported by value hypotheses, adoption plans, and benefit tracking. Make pragmatic decisions on whether initiatives should continue, evolve, or stop based on measurable value, risk, sustainability, and alignment to the future-state vision.
  • Governance & Partner Management: Oversee Data & AI governance and external partner performance to ensure adherence to enterprise standards, governance requirements, and risk appetite. Balance business value delivery against the potential for technical debt and future rework.
  • Transformation Alignment & BAU Absorption: Maintain business-as-usual momentum throughout the S4+ transformation programme while preparing BAU teams to adopt and sustain the new data foundations post-go-live. Collaborate closely with programme leaders to align standards, controls, and operating practices.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate a commitment to Weir’s zero-harm culture and actively support the development of world-class safety behaviours and practices.
