Role Overview
The Deployment Manager – Asia is a key role within the Programme Management Office (PMO), responsible for leading and coordinating the deployment of the Highlander Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 F&SCM) solution across Asia (South Korea, Taiwan, Japan).
The Deployment Manager will play a central role in mobilising and managing the end-to-end deployment lifecycle, ensuring effective coordination across global teams, local business stakeholders, and external partners, and maintaining alignment to programme governance, quality, and delivery expectations.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end deployment of the D365 implementation solution across Asia, aligned with the project phased methodology (Mobilise, Get Fit, Build & Configure, Test, Deploy, Hypercare).
- Develop and maintain integrated deployment plans, ensuring clear timelines, milestones, and interdependencies across all Asia entities.
- Drive the successful execution of all deployment phases, including cutover and transition into Business-as-Usual (BAU).
- Monitor and manage partner delivery performance, ensuring alignment to scope, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Operate fully within the established PMO governance framework, ensuring alignment with programme standards, reporting, and controls.
- Establish and maintain RAID logs, reporting cadence, and stage-gate approvals for all Asia deployment activities.
- Facilitate governance forums, including weekly status meetings, steering committees, and key decision-making sessions.
- Support definition and execution of the PMO RACI model for deployment governance across Asia.
- Lead ongoing mobilisation activities (with initial onboarding partially completed by PMO), including:
- Team onboarding and resource alignment
- Environment and tooling readiness (e.g., Azure DevOps, D365 environments, SharePoint)
- Governance framework implementation
- Ensure readiness for each deployment phase through structured mobilisation and stage-gate approvals.
- Coordinate system access, environment setup, and DevOps integration for all stakeholders.
- Coordinate SME participation across functional areas (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service, etc.).
- Develop and maintain detailed, wave-based deployment plans across all Asia entities.
- Proactively identify risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies in collaboration with programme and partner teams.
- Maintain integrated risk registers and ensure clear escalation pathways aligned with governance processes.
- Oversee data migration readiness in coordination with central data teams and partner resources.
- Ensure successful delivery of end-to-end testing, including E2E, UAT, and defect management processes.
- Lead cutover planning, dress rehearsals, and go-live execution across all deployment sites.
- Oversee the hypercare phase (minimum two months post go-live, including month-end cycles) to stabilise operations.
- Ensure smooth transition to BAU support teams and operational ownership.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement for subsequent deployment waves.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Proven track record of leading ERP implementations, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365, across multiple sites and/or regions.
- Strong programme and project management expertise within complex, large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience managing System Integrators and external delivery partners
- Solid background in governance frameworks, RAID management (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and reporting within PMO structures.
- Experience working with global templates while accommodating local regulatory and operational requirements.
- Strong leadership capability with a focus on delivery in a partner-led model.
- High attention to governance, control, and audit compliance.
- Ability to operate effectively across different cultures and time zones.
- Proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and alignment.
Desirable
- Experience within manufacturing or multi-site industrial environments.
- Exposure to working in Asia and/or with geographically dispersed global teams.
