Cybersecurity Consultant – MS Copilot & Power Platform

We're seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Consultant to support an AI Security Operating Capability workstream, helping a large federal agency stand up the ability to review, approve, monitor, and secure AI use cases running on Microsoft Power Platform. Working under the direction of the workstream lead, this consultant will get hands-on inside Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and Dataverse to help configure, test, and document security controls for a range of AI use cases. This is a hands-on technical execution role — not a policy-advisory position — and requires approximately 3–5 years of cybersecurity experience, including some direct exposure to configuring or testing controls within Microsoft Power Platform and/or Copilot environments.

Candidates with previous government contracting experience are preferred. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required. If hired, all work related to this role must be performed within the continental U.S.

Please note that this is a contract opportunity involving a 4- to 6-month engagement. This is a fully remote role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the assessment of existing security tooling and identify gaps against AI-specific risk domains for Power Platform and Copilot
• Help identify security controls aligned to Microsoft security benchmarks and industry best practices for Power Platform/Copilot Studio and connected AI use cases
• Assist in configuring and enabling security controls within Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Dataverse, and related Microsoft security tools (Entra, Purview), under the direction of the workstream lead
• Execute assigned control configuration, testing, and documentation (runbook) tasks for selected AI use cases (chatbots, email automation, analytics/ML, computer vision)
• Help document control specifications (objective, description, owner, implementation guidance, evidence/testing method) and maintain supporting evidence records
• Assist in overlaying implemented controls onto existing architecture documentation
• Help prepare and participate in knowledge transfer sessions for the client's security team
• Collaborate with client security and platform teams on assigned tasks throughout configuration and validation

Requirements

Must-Have:

• Minimum ~3–5 years of cybersecurity experience, including some exposure to security control design or implementation
• Hands-on working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot Studio and the Power Platform (Power Automate, Dataverse) sufficient to configure controls under guidance
• Working familiarity with Microsoft security suite tools (Entra, Purview) and how they integrate with Power Platform/Copilot environments
• Experience supporting technical documentation, control testing, or runbook creation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client-facing working sessions
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

• Prior exposure to federal contracting engagements
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, Microsoft SC-900, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with AI/ML security risk domains
• Experience with chatbot, RPA, or analytics/ML use case security reviews
