About the Opportunity

TEKsystems is partnering with a respected healthcare organization, to find a Customer Service Representative to support their revenue cycle team during a major system transition from Cerner to Epic.

This is a fully remote opportunity where you’ll play a key role in supporting patients and insurance partners with billing-related inquiries—all while working with a collaborative, patient-focused team.


What You’ll Do

As a CSR, you’ll be the primary point of contact for patient and insurance billing questions, delivering clear, compassionate, and timely support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handle inbound billing inquiries via phone, email, voicemail, fax, and occasional walk-ins
  • Answer patient questions related to insurance claims, balances, and Medicare billing
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies and first-level disputes
  • Update insurance information and process account changes
  • Respond to insurance carriers (commercial, Medicare, workers’ comp, auto)
  • Maintain accurate documentation and manage work queues
  • Assist with refunds, credit balances, and general account follow-up

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

  • 1+ year of customer service experience
  • Exposure to healthcare, insurance claims, or Medicare
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume workload
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:

  • Healthcare billing or revenue cycle experience
  • Experience with EMR systems (Cerner preferred)
  • Background in hospital or provider-side customer service

Work Environment & Schedule

  • 100% Remote (must reside in approved states)
  • Standard business hours: 8:00/9:00 AM – 5:00 PM MST
  • Hands-on training with team lead (shadowing + gradual ramp-up)
  • High communication role with a mix of calls and email support
  • Support a close-knit healthcare team serving a rural community

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass Background check & drug screening
  • Comfortable handling confidential patient information (HIPAA compliant)

Can be remote in the following states: AZ, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NJ, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WI

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Vail, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
