As a Curriculum Specialist, you will help develop core curricular materials for students. Our small, highly collaborative team develops lessons and high-quality instructional materials that serve as the backbone for comprehensive educational programs. This role combines strategic curriculum planning with hands-on content creation and instructional design to ensure effective learning experiences across multiple grade levels.

This is a full-time contractor role.

You Will…

  • Contribute to Curriculum Strategy and Development

    • Apply Amplify's pedagogical design to create delightful, relevant, and effective educational content for students and teachers within assigned grade levels and/or projects.

    • Create lesson plans and instructional materials following established templates and quality expectations.

  • Maintain Quality Assurance

    • Follow established authoring templates and guidelines, including org-wide Editorial guidelines, and meet documented quality expectations.

    • Seek clarity and understanding of established quality expectations and offer suggestions for improvement as applicable (e.g., state/district requirements, coherence, subject matter accuracy, alignment to product vision, ease of use, clarity of purpose, simplicity of language, age appropriateness).

  • Drive Strategic Technology Integration

    • Intentionally apply established guidelines to determine when technology is the most appropriate choice for content instruction.

    • Leverage technology tools, including AI, to support and streamline content development workflows.

  • Commit to Growth and Mentorship

    • Participate in professional growth opportunities and make suggestions for new opportunities.

    • Internalize and act upon received feedback and provide constructive feedback to teammates as applicable.

    • Partner with your manager to identify and pursue professional development goals.

  • Exercise Operational and Financial Stewardship

    • Apply growing understanding of downstream effects of content development decisions and budget constraints to minimize content development costs.

    • Surface potential opportunities for greater content development efficiencies while preserving content integrity and excellence.

What we’re looking for...

  • 2–5 years of educational experience with demonstrated curriculum development capabilities.

  • Prior classroom teaching, curriculum development, and/or instructional design experience, with at least 1–2 years specifically focused on lesson planning/design and the creation of content/educational materials.

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related subject field (Math, Science, Literacy, etc.) required. Advanced degree preferred.

  • For secondary curriculum specialist roles (Grades 6–12), a Bachelor's degree in the related subject matter, or demonstrated subject matter expertise, is required.
