Job DetailsJob Location: R2P Location TBD (MD/VA) , MD 00000Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 HourlyJob Shift: Day (8a - 4p)Credentialing Specialist Full-Time  |  Virtual  ROLE OVERVIEW We are hiring a full-time, fully virtual Credentialing Specialist to own the end-to-end credentialing process for all licensed physical therapists (DPTs) across our MD and VA locations. This role requires someone detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing sensitive clinician information across multiple payers, facilities, and regulatory bodies simultaneously. You will play a central role in keeping R2P's clinical operations running smoothly. Staying ahead of deadlines and communicating proactively are what make this role high-impact. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Manage full-cycle credentialing and re-credentialing for all DPTs across 17+ R2P locations in Maryland and Virginia. Submit initial credentialing applications to insurance panels, payer networks, and applicable state boards. Track and proactively follow up on all pending applications. Maintain current, accurate credentialing rosters for all active and onboarding clinicians. Coordinate with clinical and operations leadership to ensure new hire credentialing is complete ahead of start dates. Manage expiration tracking for licenses, certifications, malpractice coverage, and all required documentation. Handle sensitive DPT personal and professional information with strict confidentiality. Serve as the primary point of contact for payers and credentialing bodies on all application inquiries. Identify and flag credentialing gaps, at-risk expirations, or payer issues before they impact clinical operations. Maintain organized digital records and credentialing files per R2P documentation standards. Communicate status updates clearly and on schedule to clinical operations and leadership. Ensure facility and staff maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting institutions. QualificationsWHAT YOU BRING 2+ years of healthcare credentialing experience, preferably in physical therapy or outpatient rehabilitation. Working knowledge of MD and VA insurance payer requirements and state licensure processes. EPREP and Medicaid credentialing experience required. Proven ability to manage high-volume concurrent applications without things falling through the cracks. Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive personal and professional information. Strong written communication skills — clear, professional, and trackable. High proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive); comfort learning EMR and credentialing platforms. Self-direction and accountability.  Familiarity with CAQH and multi-payer credentialing workflows is a strong plus. Must be located in the DMV (DC, Maryland, or Virginia).
