The Crash Simulation Engineer will develop and apply finite element models to support vehicle crash safety and human injury research. They are responsible for leading technical efforts, performing post-simulation injury analysis, and communicating research findings through comprehensive reports.
CRASH SIMULATION ENGINEER (NHTSA):
Bowhead is seeking a Crash Simulation Engineer to support the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration contract headquartered in Washington D.C. The position will be fully remote. The crash simulation engineer is responsible for the development, evaluation and/or application of finite element and/or lumped parameter models in vehicle crash safety & human injury research. This position requires knowledge of vehicle design, crash safety countermeasures, laboratory measurement techniques, vehicle sled modeling and analysis, and test/evaluation devices such as crash test dummies and human body models. Individuals will be required to provide significant technical leadership and contribute to the technical direction of projects.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically
Target salary range is between $115,000-$130,000 commensurate with experience.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust (NAC) level clearance.
