Course Coordinator:
The Course Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, editing, and supporting the development, quality, and consistency of educational content across assigned courses and programs. This role serves as the central point of coordination between subject matter experts, writers, and internal stakeholders to ensure curriculum updates are accurate, timely, and aligned with both educational standards and business objectives.
The Course Coordinator also helps establish and maintain written standards and guidelines for content presentation, structure, and quality, and completes basic writing assignments as needed, helping ensure a cohesive and high-impact learner experience.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development & Maintenance
Edit, compile, and manage updates to course content, academic catalogs, and related educational materials.
Coordinate the review, approval, and distribution of curriculum changes across stakeholders.
Ensure version control and documentation of all curriculum updates and revisions.
Support the development of new courses and the enhancement of existing programs, including completing basic writing assignments as needed.
Quality Assurance
Review educational content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and alignment with certification or regulatory standards.
Validate assessments, including test questions, quizzes, and exams, to ensure alignment with learning objectives and professional certification requirements.
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in content and proactively recommend improvements.
Content Standards
Help establish and maintain written content quality standards and guidelines, including editorial, structural, and visual standards for educational content.
Ensure curriculum aligns with organizational learning goals, brand standards, and, where applicable, marketing or go-to-market strategies.
Partner with leadership to coordinate curriculum initiatives according to established priorities based on business and learner needs.
Collaboration
Assist leadership in coordinating writing assignments with writers, subject matter experts, instructional designers, and internal stakeholders, and track progress against deadlines. Facilitate collaboration to produce high-quality, engaging, and learner-focused content.
Provide editorial feedback to contributors to ensure consistency and quality standards are met.
Support process improvements related to curriculum workflows, timelines, and communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in curriculum coordination, content development, or educational program management.
Demonstrated experience reviewing and editing educational or instructional content.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with professional certifications, compliance-based training, or regulated industries.
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and content authoring tools.
Experience coordinating work with external writers, freelancers, or vendors.
