Make an Impact at the Center of Commercial Execution

Join Natus Medical as a Contracts Specialist and play a pivotal role at the intersection of Legal, Sales, Pricing, and Deal Desk operations. In this highly visible role, you will help accelerate deal velocity, strengthen governance, and enable smart, compliant growth by driving efficient contract workflows and supporting complex commercial negotiations.

You’ll work directly with the General Counsel and the Pricing & Contracting Center of Excellence (CoE), ensuring contracts are executed with speed, consistency, and precision while helping the business navigate risk in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

This is a remote role with the opportunity to partner across global teams and contribute to process innovation, template development, and strategic contracting initiatives.


What You’ll Do

Commercial Contracting & Negotiation

  • Responsible for negotiating purchase and sale contracts with customers, including without limitation, identifying non-standard terms and high-risk terms

  • Responsible for negotiating purchase and sale contracts with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) and Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) hospitals

  • Work under the guidance of the Contracts Manager and General Counsel in all matters pertaining to commercial contracts

Contract Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of legal agreements — drafting, negotiating, executing, and maintaining them in a Microsoft Access database

  • Provide advance notice of contract expiration dates to the respective Departments

  • Assist the business with creation and review of routine business documentation, such as NDAs, Purchasing Agreements, Distribution Agreements, terms and conditions of sale, BAA, and other commercial documents

  • Other contracts and legal-related work as may arise

Risk Identification & Governance

  • Identify non-standard and high-risk contractual terms and escalate appropriately

  • Partner with the CoE Lead to ensure contract execution aligns with governance standards, pricing approvals, terms, and commercial strategy

  • Stay up to date on legal developments, laws, regulations and other matters which may affect the validity of contracts

Process Improvement & Standardization

  • In collaboration with Sales, Finance, and Legal functions, lead the development of standard contract clauses that minimize risk to the company

  • Support the development, refinement, and maintenance of standardized templates, clause libraries, and Legal playbooks

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve business performance and product access through innovative contracting approaches

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with the Contract Manager and support various groups across the company with a focus on contract drafting and negotiations

  • Support business development with due diligence related to contracting strategies as needed

  • Provide practical business and contractual advice to the company’s leadership


What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5+ years of experience with commercial contracts

  • Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to “see around the corner”

  • Ability to modify PDF documents

  • Ability to modify Word documents using Track Changes and Comments while maintaining revision control

  • High degree of ethics, integrity, and professionalism

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills

  • Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Excellent judgement and analytical skills

  • Experience successfully working in a highly collaborative manner across a variety of business functions and geographies

Preferred

  • Experience in a corporate Legal Department

  • Medical device, MedTech, or healthcare industry experience

  • Familiarity with INCOTERMS

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to medical devices

Core Capabilities

  • Proven attention to detail with organizational skills and experience supporting high-volume / complex commercial contracting

  • Ability to independently develop and communicate clear strategies and risk assessments to the Contracts Manager, General Counsel, and senior leadership, influencing decisions

  • Takes full ownership of complex contract matters, driving progress, making sound recommendations, and ensuring alignment with business and legal goals

  • Skilled in distilling complex contractual issues into clear, business-focused guidance for non-legal stakeholders, including executives and cross-functional leaders

  • Track record of making business decisions that drive business strategic outcomes while balancing legal frameworks and company objectives


Work Environment

  • Remote role with optional hybrid flexibility for candidates near a Natus office

  • Requires a secure home office environment suitable for confidential work

  • Reliable internet connection and ergonomic workspace required

Pay Transparency: 

Pursuant to the requirements of applicable State laws and regulations, the starting salary range for this position is $75K-100KUSD.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
