The Content Rights & Operations Coordinator manages the clearing, documentation, and tagging of user-generated content to ensure brand safety and accurate reporting. They also support social publishing workflows and monitor for brand-security threats using specialized tools.

PlayOn is looking for a part-time Content Rights & Operations Coordinator to support MaxPreps Social’s rights, content operations, and brand-protection work. This role sources, clears, and documents user-generated content and other third-party media, including creator permissions, music and audio workflows, and rights documentation, before and after it goes live. It also keeps content properly tagged in ListenFirst / Talkwater for Sales and social reporting, manages assigned Bolster brand-protection workflows, and helps with social publishing during assigned weekday and weekend coverage.

The Outcomes You’ll Deliver:

  • A clear, documented process for how UGC and other third-party content gets its rights cleared before it goes out on MaxPreps Social.
  • Lower risk to the company thanks to solid rights, music, and documentation practices.
  • Content that’s tagged correctly in ListenFirst, so editorial, Sales, and sponsorship teams can trust the reporting.
  • Brand-security threats caught early and escalated through Bolster.
  • Dependable support on social publishing and day-to-day content ops during weekday and weekend shifts.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Find creator-owned UGC worth using, reach out for permission with approved messaging, and keep records of those conversations and approvals.
  • Collect and organize original media files, source links, and approval paperwork, and keep the rights tracker up to date.
  • Check UGC for music and audio issues, and follow the approved process for getting clean versions, keeping creator voiceovers, or swapping out audio when needed.
  • Loop in the Social Team Lead and Legal on any rights, licensing, ownership, or policy questions rather than making the call solo.
  • Tag and categorize published content in our analytic utilities (ex. ListenFirst & Talkwater) using our standard metadata (sport, athlete, school, campaign, sponsor, etc.) so Sales and reporting stay accurate.
  • Run the assigned Bolster workflows: review alerts for things like lookalike domains, phishing pages, fraudulent ads, and impersonation, and keep track of what’s been actioned or escalated.
  • Escalate anything that looks fraudulent or malicious through the established process, and flag patterns worth a closer look.
  • Keep an eye on creator communities for noteworthy content and bring good finds to the newsroom.
  • Help with social publishing and day-to-day content work during assigned weekday and weekend shifts, working alongside producers, editors, Sales, and Legal.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • Experience in social media, content operations, rights/clearances, licensing, analytics, brand protection, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • A good grasp of UGC and creator culture, and why documenting third-party rights properly actually matters.
  • Familiarity with copyright, music usage, or media-rights concepts, and good judgment about when to loop in Legal.
  • Comfort managing multiple deadlines and content requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X) and comfort with analytics/tagging tools; ListenFirst experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn brand-protection tools such as Bolster.
  • Availability for a part-time schedule that includes regular weekend coverage and designated weekday hours.

How You Play

  • Ownership over Participation- You take responsibility for achieving holistic outcomes, prioritize key objectives, and adapt quickly when situations require a different approach. You follow through even against the toughest challenges.
  • Team over Stars- You are a bridge builder, establishing processes and relationships with teams outside your own. You work to rally around common goals, find win-win solutions, compromise when necessary, and help others succeed.
  • Growth over Comfort- You are driven by a desire to grow and actively seek opportunities to expand your comfort zone, skills, and confidence. You embrace new challenges with curiosity, accepting discomfort and failure as opportunities to learn.
  • Fairness over Popularity- You approach decisions with a scientist’s mindset, challenging your assumptions and remaining objective. You consider long-term impact rather than relying on short-term gains, proactively seek others’ perspectives, and manage emotions in decision-making.
