To assist an Australian financial institution with the structuring and negotiation of its merchant acquiring contract with the major schemes, working as part of a small, highly focused team, you will be the global subject matter expert, providing challenge, insight, relevant benchmarks (where not confidential), and structuring help.

KEY DELIVERABLE
Global best practice request for information/ request for proposal document targeted at all major global schemes
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Must have experience running RFIs/RFPs specifically in schemes on the acquiring side (Australia preferred but offshore peer markets considered)
Must have 10+ years' experience in merchant acquiring and general payments strategy and commercial negotiation
5+ years in consulting to financial institutions on payments strategy and including acquiring
Can be based anywhere in the world
Logistics
Start Date: Immediately / As soon as possible
Duration: Approximately one month
Location: Client is based in Australia; the expert can be based anywhere.
Rate: Effective rate to be negotiated, with the expectation that it will be at the higher end of SME daily rates. Total budget is approximately AUD $70K.
Close date: No later than Monday 21 September 2026, 5 pm AEST
