The Team

The balance sheet risk management experts of the Professional Services team help financial institutions harness the full potential of Empyrean's ALM, Liquidity Stress Testing (LST), Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), Model IQ, Capital Stress Testing, and CECL solutions through implementation services, consulting, training, and support. Within Professional Services, the Outsourcing Team takes client data through the full ALM/IRR modeling lifecycle on their behalf, from data ingestion and assumption management through model execution and reporting. As an Outsourcing Consultant, you'll work directly with our modeling analysts and client-facing team to process client models, apply assumptions, and help deliver accurate, decision-ready results.


Responsibilities

  • Process client ALM/IRR models through production pipeline, including data ingestion, model setup, and assumption management (e.g., non-maturity deposit decay rates and betas)

  • Support NII (Net Interest Income) and EVE (Economic Value of Equity) sensitivity analysis to help clients assess risk exposures and profitability

  • Ensure balance sheet structures, cashflow assumptions, and rate scenarios are configured to produce accurate, decision-ready results

  • Ensure client data is complete, reconciled, and reliable as the foundation for modeling and reporting

  • Prepare risk measurement reports and analyses for client-facing consultants and, as experience grows, directly for clients

  • Advise on best practices for Economic Value of Equity, Earnings at Risk, Stress Testing

  • Act as a liaison between the client-facing consulting team and Empyrean's product management team, channeling production-queue learnings into product direction

  • Apply AI-assisted tools and repeatable processes to deliver value more efficiently and consistently, and contribute to improving those processes over time

  • Follow all applicable policies and controls, and use approved channels for transmitting sensitive customer data

  • Perform other job duties and assignments as needed and directed


Experience and Education

  • Demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or related discipline

  • Interest or experience in banking, financial services, risk management, or financial technology

  • Understanding of a bank's balance sheet, fixed income payment calculations, and financial statements

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including formula-based modeling (VBA experience a plus)

  • Experience working with large datasets

  • Strong attention to detail and good planning and organization skills

  • Comfortable following and improving structured processes

  • Demonstrated interest in AI literacy in a professional environment, including awareness of data-handling and confidentiality considerations


Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of asset/liability management (ALM) and interest rate risk concepts

  • Progress toward a CFA, FRM, or PRM certification

  • Bank internship experience

  • Knowledge of SQL, Power Query, or other data-analysis tools

  • Familiarity with fixed-income cashflow calculation and fixed income math

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 annually
