Introduction
Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations and the leading UN agency in the field of migration. Working closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners, IOM promotes humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It saves lives and protects people on the move, drives solutions to displacement, and facilitates pathways for regular migration, while providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
IOM is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive and supportive workplace where all employees can thrive professionally and feel valued. By creating such an environment, IOM aims to better harness the full potential of migration and strengthen its support to people on the move.
Project Context and Scope
IOM launched the Operational Guidelines for Businesses on Remediation of Migrant Worker Grievances and the Handbook for Businesses on Remediation of Migrant Worker Grievances in 2025. These resources provide businesses with a comprehensive framework for designing, implementing and strengthening remediation programmes and operational-level grievance mechanisms for migrant workers.
To support the uptake and practical application of these resources, IOM seeks to develop a modular and interactive training package tailored for private sector audiences, including sustainability practitioners, human resources personnel, compliance teams, labour recruiters, worker welfare officers and supply chain actors. The training package should translate the concepts, principles, tools and operational steps described in the Guidelines into practical learning modules that enable participants to understand, assess and strengthen remediation systems within their organizations.
The consultant will first undertake a review and mapping of existing learning resources available within IOM and externally. Building on this assessment, the consultant will develop a complete training package that incorporates adult learning methodologies, practical exercises, case studies, supporting facilitator resources, and knowledge assessment tools.
