About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Compliance & Investigations Specialist to conduct independent investigations into potential violations of client agreements and company policies. In this project-based role, you'll review high-risk cases, gather and analyze evidence, assess compliance risk, and support leadership with objective recommendations.
This role combines strong analytical thinking with research skills, focusing on solving complex compliance challenges and evidence evaluation. You'll work independently on critical cases where judgment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent investigations into high-risk cases assigned by leadership
- Gather, review, and analyze documentation, communications, and evidence from multiple sources
- Perform targeted research using LinkedIn, social media, public records, and online tools
- Conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders (employees, contractors, clients) as needed
- Develop investigative findings and objective recommendations based on evidence analysis
- Prepare written reports summarizing facts, conclusions, risk assessments, and escalation recommendations
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential case documentation
- Identify trends, patterns, and recurring compliance risks across cases
- Recommend process improvements and support risk mitigation efforts
- Utilize technology and AI-assisted research tools to improve investigative efficiency
Requirements
- Live in LATAM or The Caribbean
- 2+ years of experience in investigations, compliance, HR, employee relations, risk management, auditing, or related field
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and interviewing skills
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online business tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)—able to communicate effectively with US-based teams
- Comfort working on a flexible, project-based schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting workplace, compliance, or contract-related investigations
- Experience working in a remote environment
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research and data analysis tools
- Experience with public records research and social media investigation
- Knowledge of US workplace compliance and legal investigation boundaries
- Proactive learning mindset with eagerness to adopt new tools
