AI Summary

Own the compliance infrastructure for beverage and wellness brands, focusing on label reviews and state brand registrations. Maintain third-party certifications and manage regulatory reporting for FDA, TTB, and state-level bodies.

The Task At Hand:
We're building the compliance infrastructure behind some of the most exciting brands in the beverage and wellness space - and we need someone who can own the work.

This role reports directly to the Compliance Manager, and supports regulatory and certification operations across three distinct product lines - Supplements (Willie's Non-THC), Willie's Remedy + (THC), and JuneShine. You'll be the execution engine behind label reviews, state brand registrations, tax reporting requirements and third-party certification maintenance across a portfolio that spans FDA, TTB, and state-level regulatory bodies.

This role is built for the detail-obsessed operator who wants to own a compliance function - not just support one.

\n

Who You Are:
  • You have 3+ years of compliance experience in a regulated CPG category - supplements, THC/cannabis, alcohol, or similar
  • You've owned label reviews and know how to navigate FDA and/or TTB labeling standards without hand-holding
  • You've managed state brand registration processes and understand what it takes to hit deadlines across multiple jurisdictions
  • You default to building systems - SOPs, trackers, databases - when structure doesn't exist yet
  • You're a cross-functional operator: comfortable working across supply chain, regulatory, and sales without losing the thread on your own workload
  • You bring a certification mindset - whether from Kosher, GFCO, Organic, or another third-party program background, you know how to maintain compliance at the co-packer level

What You'll Do:
  • Supplements & Non-THC (Willie's)
    • Own the creation and ongoing maintenance of compliance checklists for new supplement and Non-THC product launches
    • Lead label reviews for the Supplements and Non-THC line, ensuring accuracy against applicable regulatory labeling standards
  • Willie's Remedy + (THC)
    • Manage annual state brand registrations for Willie's THC products across all applicable jurisdictions, tracking deadlines and submission requirements
    • Organize and maintain co-manufacturer documentation, facility records, and label information required for regulatory submissions
  • JuneShine
    • Maintain Kosher and GFCO (gluten-free) certifications at co-packer facilities, including monthly check-ins and ingredient submissions as needed
    • Submit new brand registrations for JuneShine products across relevant state and federal channels
    • Complete and submit TTB and CDTFA end of month process and excise reports
  • Cross-Functional & Strategic
    • Build and maintain a centralized compliance database - SOPs, labels, manufacturing info - to serve as the internal resource for audits, approvals, and new submissions
    • Support the Compliance Manager on ad hoc projects, including renewal reporting, sales number compilation, and cross-functional coordination with supply chain and regulatory teams

Must Haves:
  • 21 years of age or older at the time of application
  • B.S. or B.A. in a science, health, or technical field (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Nutrition, Environmental Science, or related)
  • 3+ years of hands-on compliance experience in a regulated CPG category (supplements, THC/cannabis, alcohol, or comparable)
  • Direct experience with product label review and understanding of applicable regulatory labeling standards (FDA and/or TTB)
  • Demonstrated experience managing state brand registration processes
  • Proven ability to create and maintain compliance documentation, SOPs, or tracking systems across multiple products or brands simultaneously

Nice to Haves:
  • Background in certification programs - Kosher, GFCO, USDA Organic, or similar third-party programs
  • Exposure to THC, cannabis, or dual-regulatory environments (FDA + TTB or FDA + state cannabis bodies)
  • Experience working across multiple brands or product lines simultaneously within a single organization
  • Comfortable building structure in ambiguous environments - you've written the SOP that didn't exist yet
  • Strong communicator who can translate regulatory requirements for non-compliance stakeholders in sales or supply chain
  • Familiarity with co-manufacturer or co-packer compliance dynamics

Compensation, Perks + Benefits:
Compensation:
  • $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
  • The final offer will be based on several factors, including experience, skills, location and overall expertise
Perks + Benefits:
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off
  • Healthcare coverage: up to 90% company contribution for employees and 25% for dependents
  • Voluntary vision, dental, and accidental plans
  • 401(k) with up to 4% company match
  • 12 weeks of paid Equal Parental Leave, $500 Baby Bonding Bucks, and a sustainable baby gift
  • Booch, spirit, beer, and soft good perks
  • And more!

Who We Are

Our Purpose: To make quality, purpose-driven beverages

Our Business: Our vision is to create the next-generation beverage platform, comprising distinct brands, each with its own ethos and purpose. Despite being a multi-billion dollar industry, it lacks options that cater to the next generation of drinkers who will demand more from their alcohol than a mere buzz. Disrupting this industry is a worthy, and massive opportunity.

Our Culture: Our core values are Quality, Transparency, and Team-First. We derive much of our management policy from a book we give you upon hiring, ‘Let My People Go Surfing', by Yvon Chouinard (founder, owner, Patagonia). Our policy is to allow workers flexible hours, provided the work gets done with no negative impact on others. Our ‘let my people go surfing’ policy demands that we hire very unique individuals; those with a combination of self-motivation, self-discipline, and energy.

JuneShine Brands is a purpose-driven organization composed of a diverse and dynamic group of individuals with varied backgrounds, passions, and beliefs. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone’s unique perspectives are valued. We seek to hire self-motivated, independent thinkers, who embrace challenging the status quo. Join us at JuneShine Brands where you’re encouraged to bring your authentic self to your craft every day. As a proud equal opportunity employer, we are dedicated to ensuring fairness and equity in our hiring practices.

You must reside in the United States to be considered for this position.
