Parallels has an immediate vacancy for this role.
We are looking for a hands-on Community Marketer to help Parallels build stronger relationships with customers, prospects, enthusiasts, and relevant audiences online.
The top creative and technical minds could work anywhere. So why are so many of them choosing Parallels? Here are three reasons:
- This is the moment. It’s an exciting time at Parallels, with strong leadership, a refreshed brand, and a whole new approach to changing the way the world works. We’re at the forefront of a movement, and we want you to ride this wave with us.
- We want you to be you. Too often, companies tell you about their culture and then expect you to fit it. Our culture is built from the people who work here. We want you to feel safe to be who you are, take risks, and show us what you’ve got.
- It’s your world. We know you have a life. We want to be part of it, but not all of it. At Parallels, we’re serious about empowering people to work when, how, and where they want. Couch? Sweatpants? Cool with us. We believe that happy employees mean happy customers. That’s why we hire amazing people and get out of their way.
Sound good so far? Awesome. Let’s talk more about the Community Marketer role and see if we’re destined to be together.
Why This Role Matters
Customers increasingly form opinions about products through conversations with other users, creators, Reddit, YouTube, forums, and independent content - not just through brand-owned channels.
For Parallels, many customer questions are practical and use-case driven: which applications work, how performance compares, what setup is required, and whether Parallels is right for a particular workflow. Being present and useful in these conversations helps build trust and gives us a direct view of customer needs.
This role exists to make Parallels more present, useful, and human wherever relevant customer conversations are happening online.
What You Will Do
Manage Online Communities
- Actively manage Parallels' presence across Reddit, YouTube, forums, and other relevant online channels.
- Monitor conversations about Parallels, Windows on Mac, key applications, customer workflows, gaming, virtualization, and adjacent topics.
- Respond to customer comments, questions, feedback, and product discussions in a timely, accurate, and helpful way.
- Actively grow a strong, engaged following by participating consistently, building trust, and developing relationships with moderators, creators, and knowledgeable users.
- Coordinate with Product, Support, and Marketing when questions require technical input or escalation.
Be the Voice of the Customer
- Stay close to customer needs, common use cases, priority applications, questions, objections, and points of friction.
- Identify recurring themes and translate them into clear insights for Marketing, Product, Support, and other teams.
- Understand the language customers use and help Parallels communicate in a way that feels useful, credible, and relevant.
- Gaming is an important use case: stay familiar with gaming trends, popular titles, compatibility discussions, and the way gaming audiences communicate.
- Surface emerging customer needs, sentiment shifts, and opportunities to improve content or customer experience.
Support Content & the Content Calendar
- Feed customer insights, questions, and emerging topics into the broader content and social calendar managed by the Social team.
- Recommend topics, formats, FAQs, explainers, and tips based on what customers are actually discussing.
- Provide advice on tone, timing, audience relevance, and likely audience response for planned content.
- Help maintain useful talking points and response guidance for recurring customer questions.
Build Content With Third Parties
- Work with the Influencer & Affiliate team to identify content opportunities with creators, publishers, reviewers, affiliates, and other relevant third parties.
- Help develop useful content around priority customer needs, applications, workflows, and use cases.
- Support tutorials, product explainers, application or game compatibility content, reviews, Q&As, and creator-led content.
- Support briefs, product access, coordination, and publishing as needed.
Track Customer Insights
- Track recurring questions, sentiment, emerging topics, and common points of friction across priority channels.
- Share simple recurring summaries of what customers are talking about and where Parallels should respond or create content.
- Partner with Marketing, Product, Support, Lifecycle, Influencer & Affiliate, and Social teams to act on the most important insights.
- Use customer feedback to improve FAQs, messaging, content ideas, and customer responses.
What You Bring
- 2-4 years of experience in customer engagement, digital marketing, content marketing, social or audience marketing, gaming marketing, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience managing or participating in channels such as Reddit, YouTube, forums, Discord, or creator-led audiences.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to adapt tone naturally across different platforms and audiences.
- Ability to build an engaged following through consistent, useful, and authentic participation.
- Good judgment when responding publicly to questions, criticism, product issues, or sensitive conversations.
- Ability to turn customer conversations into content ideas, insights, and practical recommendations.
- Curiosity about technology, software, applications, and the real-world workflows customers use Parallels for.
- Gaming knowledge and the ability to speak credibly with gaming audiences is a strong advantage.
- Experience working with creators, influencers, affiliates, publishers, reviewers, or other third-party content partners is a plus.
- Familiarity with social listening, audience analytics, or engagement tools is a plus.
- Experience in SaaS, consumer software, ecommerce, or another digital product environment is a plus.
- Comfort working collaboratively in a global, remote-first team.
