Commercial IT Team Lead – Data Migration

This is a remote position.

NextLink is seeking an experienced Commercial IT Team Lead to lead and manage a commercial IT team supporting a large-scale Data Migration and Digital Transformation programme with our client.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the team's delivery scope, resources, timelines and performance, ensuring all deliverables are completed to the required scope, quality, budget and schedule.

This role requires a strong combination of IT leadership, project delivery, stakeholder management and commercial awareness, with the ability to operate effectively between senior management and cross-functional delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Commercial IT team throughout the project.
  
• Define and manage the team's scope, objectives and deliverables.
  
• Translate overall project milestones into clear team deadlines and delivery plans.
  
• Monitor team progress and ensure delivery remains aligned with project milestones.
  
• Assign, coordinate and track work across the Commercial IT team.
  
• Identify and provide the appropriate tools, resources and capabilities required for successful delivery.
  
• Manage team priorities, capacity and resource allocation.
  
• Control project costs and manage the budget assigned by Programme Management.
  
• Support Programme Management with the definition and monitoring of KPIs to measure progress, performance and project success.
  
• Act as the key link between senior management and cross-functional teams responsible for project execution.
  
• Coordinate with business, IT, data and other project stakeholders.
  
• Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies and potential delivery blockers.
  
• Provide regular progress updates to senior stakeholders.
  
• Ensure the Commercial IT team delivers all agreed outputs within the required scope, timeline, budget and quality standards.
  
• Escalate issues appropriately and drive timely resolution.
  
• Ensure effective collaboration and communication across all relevant project teams.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as an IT Team Lead, IT Delivery Lead, IT Project Lead, Commercial IT Lead or similar role.
  
• Strong experience leading and coordinating IT teams in complex transformation programmes.
  
• Demonstrable experience managing project scope, milestones, resources and deliverables.
  
• Strong project planning and delivery management capabilities.
  
• Experience managing budgets, costs and resources.
  
• Strong understanding of project governance, KPIs, risks, issues and dependencies.
  
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior/upper management.
  
• Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
  
• Experience assigning and tracking work across a delivery team.
  
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent communication and reporting capabilities.
  
• Ability to work independently in a remote, international environment.
  
• Comfortable working within CET time zones.
  

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on data migration programmes.
  
• Experience within large-scale digital transformation projects.
  
• Experience with SAP / S/4HANA transformation programmes.
  
• Experience within Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated environments.
  
• Experience managing global or multi-country project teams.
  
• Experience across project phases including planning, build, testing, cutover and go-live.
