Who you are:

• (Required) You have at least 2 years experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps or equivalent experience
• (Required) Have experience with AWS services and have contributed to maintaining system availability and scalability
• Experience with Terraform/OpenTofu or other IaC.
• Experience with Containerization.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD orchestrators.
• Experience coding and scripting with one or more common languages, such as Python, Javascript, Bash, GoLang, etc.
• Experience with monitoring tools like DataDog or equivalent.
• Helpful but not required to have experience with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka.
• You are a strong technical contributor with an aptitude for working with team members.
• Passionate about the Developer Experience.
• As an added bonus, you are excited about the Education/Non-profit Sector.

What you’ll do:

• Supporting the management of all of our AWS services, monitoring our infrastructure, and assisting with managing costs of services to optimize efficiency
• You will be able to develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC). We primarily use Terraform with some CloudFormation.
• Ability to assist with DNS record creation, deletion, and modification
• Coordinating with our Director of Security and supporting our infrastructure security approach, including management and monitoring of systems through various tools
• Serving as a resource for our product development, platform, and support teams to help triage issues and questions that arise that are infrastructure related

How you’ll contribute to the team:

You’ll be expected to:

• Champion the Developer Experience by building the paved roads our engineers travel on. Your day-to-day will involve creating and maintaining the core developer platform, including reusable Terraform modules, CI/CD actions, and base container images.
• Act as a key partner to developers, providing hands-on support and triaging infrastructure requests to unblock their work and keep projects moving.
• Ensure the reliability of our core infrastructure by actively monitoring, tuning, and maintaining shared AWS services like MSK, RDS, and our networking components.
• Champion a "shift-left" culture by empowering developers. You'll achieve this by creating clear documentation, defining standard CI/CD and IaC patterns, and hosting lunch-and-learns to skill up the entire team.
