The therapist will provide individual psychotherapy to adults, completing comprehensive assessments and developing evidence-based treatment plans. They will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team and maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Cedar & Sage Therapy is seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled, and motivated Adult Clinical Therapist to join our growing outpatient mental health practice.
The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high-quality, individualized psychotherapy to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, stress, ADHD, and other mental health concerns.
The therapist will provide individual psychotherapy while collaborating with other members of the client's care team, including psychiatric medication management providers, primary care providers, and other behavioral health professionals when appropriate.
We are looking for a clinician who is empathetic, dependable, clinically curious, organized, and comfortable working independently while being part of a collaborative team.
Provide individual psychotherapy to adult clients in an outpatient mental health setting.
Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and clinical evaluations as appropriate.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client's presenting concerns, strengths, needs, and goals.
Provide evidence-based psychotherapy interventions appropriate to the client's diagnosis and treatment needs.
Regularly assess client progress and modify treatment interventions as clinically indicated.
Provide crisis assessment and appropriate safety planning when clinically necessary.
Recognize when a client requires a higher level of care and make appropriate referrals.
Coordinate care with other providers when appropriate and with appropriate authorization.
Maintain appropriate professional and therapeutic boundaries.

Experience with trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, CBT, DBT-informed interventions, parts work, Polyvagal Theory, or other evidence-based approaches is highly valued.
Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
Complete initial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge documentation in accordance with practice and payer requirements.
Maintain documentation that supports medical necessity and appropriate billing.
Complete treatment plan updates and other required clinical documentation within established timelines.
Maintain accurate and thorough client records.
Follow HIPAA, confidentiality, ethical, and professional standards.
Maintain appropriate documentation related to risk assessments, safety planning, referrals, and coordination of care.
Follow all applicable state licensing requirements and professional standards.
Collaborate with psychiatric medication management providers when appropriate.
Communicate with other healthcare and behavioral health providers as needed and with appropriate client authorization.
Participate in clinical consultation and supervision.
Communicate effectively with the Clinical Director and administrative team regarding client needs and clinical concerns.
Participate in treatment planning and coordination of care when clients receive multiple services through Cedar & Sage Therapy.
Make appropriate referrals to outside providers and community resources when additional services are needed.
Establish strong therapeutic relationships with adult clients from diverse backgrounds.
Create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment.
Utilize a client-centered approach that respects client autonomy and individual goals.
Help clients identify strengths, develop coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and work toward meaningful behavioral change.
Provide psychoeducation regarding mental health, coping strategies, emotional regulation, and treatment recommendations.
Encourage client participation and collaboration in the treatment process.
Master's degree or higher in Social Work or Counseling.
Appropriate Michigan clinical license or limited license appropriate for providing psychotherapy.
Ability to provide outpatient psychotherapy to adults.
Strong understanding of mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychotherapy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong clinical documentation skills.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Reliable attendance and timely completion of clinical responsibilities.
Commitment to ethical and evidence-based clinical practice.

Full-time clinicians are expected to maintain an average caseload of approximately 25 clients per week, with scheduling and productivity expectations based on the clinician's employment status and established practice guidelines.
