What We Need:

The Clinical Quality Auditor is a critical member of the Quality Management team, reporting directly to the Director, Quality Management. This role is responsible for ensuring that all clinical services, processes, and DMEPOS products meet established quality, safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

The Clinical Quality Auditor serves as both a clinical expert and quality advocate, playing a key role in protecting patient safety, ensuring clinical appropriateness of care, and driving continuous quality improvement across clinical and operational teams. Through audits, data analysis, and collaboration, this role helps identify risks, close quality gaps, and strengthen processes that support consistent, high-quality patient outcomes in a highly regulated healthcare environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct internal clinical and quality audits of DMEPOS products, services, and workflows to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, contractual, and internal quality standards.
  • Assess adherence to company policies, procedures, client specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Review patient medical records, care plans, documentation, and product utilization to evaluate clinical appropriateness, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and ensure alignment with safety protocols, clinical guidelines, and standards of care related to DMEPOS services.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and areas of risk; partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Prepare, maintain, and present comprehensive audit findings, reports, and recommendations to quality and operational leadership.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to Quality Management and Operations teams to support process optimization, risk mitigation, and service excellence.
  • Support the development, enhancement, and delivery of training and education related to quality standards, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for staff regarding quality-related policies, procedures, and compliance expectations.
  • Assist with investigations, root cause analyses, and resolution of quality events, grievances, patient safety concerns, and service delivery issues.
  • Support readiness for internal and external audits, surveys, and accreditation activities.

What You Have:

At Synapse Health, we’ve intentionally built a culture rooted in kindness, collaboration, and creativity, qualities we consider essential for every team member. Additional requirements include:

  • Active licensure as a healthcare professional (RN, LPN, RRT, CRT, or other relevant clinical certification), required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Studies, or a related field, preferred.
  • 3–5 years of clinical experience in a healthcare, DMEPOS, or medical device environment.
  • 2–3 years of experience in quality auditing, quality management, or compliance within a healthcare, DMEPOS, or medical device setting, preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of DMEPOS regulations and industry standards, including CMS guidelines, FDA regulations, ACHC, BOC, and ISO requirements.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS), audit tools, and data analysis methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn department-specific systems and software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly document findings and influence improvement efforts.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Accountability: Clearly understands how individual responsibilities contribute to organizational quality, compliance, and patient safety goals.
  • Integrity: Consistently demonstrates ethical decision-making and adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
  • Influence & Leadership: Able to guide, educate, and influence stakeholders without direct authority to drive quality improvement.
  • Organization & Prioritization: Effectively evaluates risk and urgency, adjusting priorities to meet evolving regulatory and operational needs.
