SUMMARY: Assess medical information for potential medical transport utilizing all available information. To include detail review of medical records and telephone contact when the need arises for further information. The primary function of this position requires writing and documentation of a clear medical review summary with an analysis of the current patient condition that necessitates medical transport. This requires coordination between Clinical Operations / Flight Coordination/ Legal, and Revenue Cycle Management.

Other job functions may include training and understanding of Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN’s). This function would be assisted through the collaboration of clinical data, templates, and a collaboration with multiples departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This Position is permitted for Remote/Work from Home

• Schedule Monday thru Friday 8AM-5PM (Hours Flexible)

• Requires computer proficiency working with Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint

• Requires dedicated workspace ensuring protection of HIPPA and sensitive information.

• Facilitates open lines of communication with other departments to ensure success.

• Drafts “History of Present Illness” (HPI) per request maintaining professional standards

• Coordinates & assist with multiple departments regarding HPI’s

• Actively participates in departmental quality improvement projects or other projects as assigned.

• Responsible for knowledge & compliance with all policies contained in the Employee Handbook and Air Ambulance Operations Manual.

• Responsible for compliance with all policies governing privacy, EMTALA, and HIPAA compliance.

• Other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Interfaces To: Medical crewmembers, Flight crewmembers, Medical Directors, Flight Coordinators, Dispatch/Logistics, Revenue Cycle Management, Legal, Co-Workers, Vendors, Customers, and Patients

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

• Education: Associates degree in Registered Nursing

• Experience: Minimum five (5) years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience

• Licenses: Current unencumbered RN license(s).

• Language: Read, Speak, and Write English language

PREFERRED:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing

• Experience: Previous telehealth, Medical Insurance & Compliance experience, Legal Nurse Consult

• License: Multi-state privilege license
