Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We’re looking for a Large Loss Claims Specialist, Commercial Lines for our growing team! This position covers all of Quebec and involves travel throughout the province. It is entirely remote, with no requirement to be in the office.

What you’ll do here:

• Listen to customers, clearly explain the claims process, answer their questions and provide service that goes beyond their expectations.
• Analyze customers’ insurance coverages and clearly explain the protections they have in relation to their claim.
• Gather information about the circumstances of the loss from policyholders, third parties and other stakeholders to determine the circumstances, causes and admissibility of claims.
• Assess the potential liability of the insured and third parties, based on relevant and well-substantiated investigation findings.
• Anticipate recoveries and direct the investigation accordingly.
• Actively collaborate with various related claims and underwriting departments, as well as outside specialists.
• Communicate effectively with customers to keep them informed of developments.
• Thoroughly document customer files and record relevant information in accordance with the company’s standards and guidelines.
• Ensure the sound management of expenses and eternal costs.
• Actively handle calls during catastrophes and periods of abnormally high call volume, as needed.
• Stay in the know about insurance products, as well as investigation techniques and services.

What you bring to the table:

• Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation, an asset.
• Claims adjuster licence.
• Five years of experience as a field adjuster, Commercial Lines.
• Strong computer skills.
• Bilingualism (English-French) – Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking clients and colleagues across the country
