About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Claims Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage and process a variety of claims related to household goods cargo, commercial/logistics cargo, property damage, delays, and warehouse-related claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle incoming claims and guide customers through the claims filing process
• Investigate, evaluate, process, and settle claims efficiently and accurately
• Communicate with customers, drivers, crew members, agencies, and internal teams regarding claims updates and resolutions
• Review bills of lading, inventory sheets, warehouse receipts, claim forms, and supporting documentation
• Determine liability, coverage, and settlement amounts based on company procedures and regulatory requirements
• Manage claims within Supermove and other online claims systems
• Coordinate inspections, repairs, and missing item investigations
• Draft release agreements and process settlement payouts
• Track and report claims activity, trends, and loss statistics
• Collaborate with Payroll and Accounting teams on chargebacks, credits, and settlement schedules
• Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, military business rules, and company policies
• Assist in developing SOPs and improving claims processes

Qualifications

• Previous claims handling experience required
• Moving industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• High attention to detail and ability to process large amounts of information accurately
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Positive attitude and ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment
