JOB SUMMARY:
Venbrook Claims is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to manage a caseload of General Liability, Construction Defect, and Professional Liability claims, including complex and litigated files, from first notice of loss through resolution. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of commercial claims handling experience, a working knowledge of tower and stackable coverage structures, and the ability to write clear, well-reasoned coverage position letters independently. This is a fully remote position. Candidates located in the Central or Eastern time zone are strongly preferred, as the majority of our clients operate in those regions and core hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Central. Multi-state adjuster licensing is required; New York licensure is preferred.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: (OPTIONAL)
Coverage Analysis & Tower/Stackable Programs: Thorough understanding of General Liability, Construction Defect, and Professional Liability policy forms, including tower (vertical) and stackable (layered) coverage structures. Able to analyze coverage positions independently, draft well-reasoned coverage position letters, and communicate complex coverage determinations clearly to insureds, brokers, and defense counsel.
Investigation & Claims Evaluation: Skilled at investigating commercial GL, construction, and professional liability claims — gathering facts, reviewing contracts, assessing liability exposure, and evaluating damages with a structured, file-documented approach. Comfortable managing both pre-litigation and litigated files concurrently.
Litigation Management: Experienced in directing outside defense counsel, managing litigation budgets, monitoring case strategy, and attending mediations and settlement conferences. Knows when to escalate and documents reasoning clearly in file notes.
Client Service & Communication: Responsive and professional across all stakeholder groups — insureds, brokers, defense counsel, and carriers. Proactive in file status updates and comfortable presenting claims at roundtables or client claim reviews.
Jurisdictional & Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of multi-state claims handling requirements, prompt payment obligations, and reservation of rights standards. New York licensure and familiarity with NY-specific GL and professional liability regulations is a strong asset.
TPA & Program Claims Experience: Prior third-party administrator (TPA) experience handling program or manuscript policy claims is strongly preferred. Familiarity with client-specific handling instructions, billing guidelines, and claim review formats is a significant differentiator.
