Centralized Services Systems Administrator

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Centralized Services Systems Administrator to support a growing international managed services provider.

This role is focused on proactive infrastructure management, Microsoft cloud administration, security remediation, backup monitoring, automation, and overnight project work. The successful candidate will work independently during US operating hours while collaborating with a broader technical team.

This is not a traditional reactive help desk position. The role requires someone who can identify issues, perform remediation, complete technical projects, and improve recurring processes through scripting and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor infrastructure, security, backup, and RMM alerts and complete appropriate remediation.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and Active Directory environments.
  • Perform Microsoft Windows Server maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, and administration.
  • Manage backup platforms, including Veeam and cloud-based backup solutions.
  • Complete server hardware and firmware maintenance tasks.
  • Perform overnight infrastructure and Microsoft cloud projects.
  • Complete Microsoft 365 and SharePoint migrations.
  • Perform email migrations using Proofpoint or similar platforms.
  • Assist with Entra ID desktop profile migrations.
  • Support SOC and MDR implementations.
  • Respond to security incidents, perform remediation, and escalate when necessary.
  • Use RMM platforms, preferably NinjaOne, to monitor and manage client environments.
  • Create PowerShell scripts and automation to resolve recurring technical issues.
  • Document completed work, technical processes, and remediation steps.
  • Manage tickets accurately through a PSA platform such as ConnectWise or Halo.
  • Work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet project deadlines.
  • Assist with mentoring junior technicians and improving centralized services processes where required.


Requirements

Required Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Entra ID.
  • Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Experience with server maintenance, patching, hardware, and firmware.
  • Experience managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience using an RMM platform in an MSP or multi-client environment.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting and technical automation.
  • Experience monitoring and responding to infrastructure and security alerts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues with limited supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Previous experience working for an MSP or IT services provider.
  • Ability to work overnight hours aligned with a US-based client.

Preferred Experience

  • NinjaOne RMM experience.
  • Veeam backup administration.
  • Proofpoint email migration experience.
  • Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • SharePoint migrations.
  • SOC or MDR implementation experience.
  • ConnectWise Manage or Halo PSA experience.
  • Experience leading a technical team or mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience building or managing a centralized services department.

Remote Work Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • A reliable fibre internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps.
  • Backup power capable of supporting the computer and internet connection during outages.
  • A dedicated and professional home working environment.
  • A noise-cancelling headset and functioning webcam.
  • A dedicated work computer with at least an Intel Core i5 or equivalent processor.
  • A minimum of 16 GB RAM.
  • A computer that is less than five years old and capable of supporting the required technical tools.
  • The ability to work consistently during the client’s required US hours.
  • A personal device that is used exclusively for work during scheduled working hours.
