RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

Chemical Dependency Counselor - Full-time

 

Location: Crookston (Flexible work arrangement - remote/hybrid)

Work Status: Full-Time (80 hours per pay period)

Recovery Center hours: Varied (10am to 6pm)

Pay Range: $57,700 - $80,870 (D.O.E - dependent upon experience)

Job Status: Exempt, benefitted position

 

RiverView Recovery Center has a full-time (80-hours per pay period) opening for a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), who is based out of our Crookston office.  We are open to flexible work arrangements for this position, including fully remote, hybrid, or in-person, depending on candidate qualifications and organizational needs. This role is based out of Crookston for licensing and team collaboration purposes, virtual telehealth may be considered. While candidates may work remotely, there is an expectation of alignment with regional coverage needs and participation in team meetings and supervision.

 

Counselor will be responsible for a range of clinical services, including, but not limited to: Facilitation of Group and Individual Counseling; Chemical Health Assessments (Comprehensive Assessment); Crisis Management; and Treatment Coordination. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Dependency, Addiction Studies, or an equivalent human services field (e.g., Social Work with an emphasis in Addiction Studies).
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain Licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
  • Active ADC-T permit from the Board of Behavioral Health may be considered
  • Must maintain a current and valid LADC license with bi-annual renewal.
  • If the candidate has a personal history of substance use disorder, they must be free from chemical use problems for at least 2 years.
  • Must have completed a minimum 12-hour training in co-occurring disorders, or be willing to complete this training within 6 months of hire (per MN Statute 245G.13).
  • Must pass background and required state licensing checks.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Completion of 12 hours of co-occurring education (or willingness to complete within 6 months of employment).
  • Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards in behavioral health settings.
  • Prior experience in residential or outpatient chemical dependency treatment settings.
