Location: Remote (California-based required). Preference for Sacramento, Fresno, and Stockton areas
Reports to: Program Manager, California Climate Action Corps
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $83,300–$89,100 annually (DOE)

California Climate Action Corps (CCAC), a state service program led by California Volunteers, Office of the Governor, and implemented by Bay Area Community Resources (BACR), mobilizes emerging leaders to take direct climate action in communities across California. With over 400 fellows and 100+ host partners, CCAC supports impactful service projects focused on urban greening, organic waste and edible food recovery, wildfire resiliency, and climate education and volunteer engagement. The program is rooted in service, equity, and sustainability.

Position Summary

The Regional Supervisor – Operations & Onboarding is a dynamic, multifaceted role responsible for both regional fellowship support and critical program operations for the California Climate Action Corps (CCAC). Approximately half of the role focuses on serving as a Regional Supervisor for a cohort of Fellows and Host Partners, while the other half focuses on owning key administrative, financial, compliance, and operational processes that support a 400+ Fellow, 100+ Host Partner Fellowship.

As a Regional Supervisor, this position serves as a primary program liaison across multiple Host Partner sites, providing ongoing support to Fellows and their Site Supervisors, conducting monthly virtual check-ins and bi-annual in-person visits, supporting professional development, and helping ensure a successful Fellowship experience. On the operations side, this position will own high-volume, detail-oriented processes including timecard administration, reimbursements, financial reporting, and offer support for onboarding and offboarding, compliance tracking, and audits.

This role requires someone who can zoom in on the details while keeping the big picture in view. The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized self-starter who takes ownership of complex processes, effectively manages competing priorities, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Finance

• Own and manage the fellowship timecard approval process and reporting for 400+ fellows, including reviewing, tracking, and resolving timecard issues
• Manage fellowship reimbursements, review documentation for accuracy and compliance, and coordinate timely processing
• Organize, prepare, and submit financial reports, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and submitted by required deadlines
• Coordinate key onboarding and offboarding processes for 400+ fellows annually
• Identify opportunities to improve administrative systems and processes, taking initiative to create greater consistency, efficiency, and accountability
• Support program audits by maintaining organized records, gathering documentation, and responding to requests

Fellow Regional Supervision

• Support the professional development of each AmeriCorps Fellow
• Help facilitate and plan member development training days, community building, and celebrations
• Act as Regional Supervisor for fellows and host partners, meeting virtually on a monthly basis and occasionally conducting in-person site visits
• Collect all member evaluation and metrics reporting documentation
• Oversee and approve AmeriCorps timesheets, track AmeriCorps hours, and support fellow professional development and post-fellowship transition

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Program or operations administration
  • Finance, financial administration, or grant administration
  • Compliance, reporting, or audit support
  • Onboarding or human resources support
  • Stakeholder or partnership coordination
  • Nonprofit, AmeriCorps, or other service-oriented programs
• A highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter who can take ownership of complex processes from start to finish, manage high-volume work and competing priorities, and maintain accuracy across multiple systems
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, navigate challenging conversations, balance competing needs, and follow through
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to Fellows, Host Partners, and internal team members
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-moving environment, with the ability to adjust to changing program needs and priorities
• Strong remote-work skills, including proactive communication, accountability, and responsiveness
• Experience with project management, reporting, Salesforce, Slack, Google Suite, or the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Experience with sustainability, environmental, or AmeriCorps programs, and familiarity with California environmental policy is a plus
