The Pittsburgh Project Micro‑Team Career Advisor provides intermediate‑level career development services to job seekers residing in Pittsburgh and surrounding counties, delivering strategic, place‑based support aligned with the region’s workforce landscape and grant‑specific outcomes. The Career Advisor supports the mission by delivering higher‑impact advising that strengthens participant confidence, clarity, and measurable employment outcomes for job seekers across the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
Maintain an active coaching caseload as determined by Pittsburgh Project needs, supporting a minimum of 16 locally based candidates per week.
Receive and process new candidate referrals daily, Monday through Friday, excluding posted company holidays, ensuring timely engagement of job seekers across Pittsburgh and surrounding counties.
Achieve and report a minimum of 28 job placement outcomes per quarter specifically tied to Pittsburgh‑area job seekers and regional grant deliverables.
Document all candidate interactions, updates, and actions in the Talent Management System promptly and accurately to ensure compliance with Pittsburgh Project reporting requirements.
Provide professional career readiness and job placement assistance following proprietary procedures, tailored to the hiring needs and workforce trends of the Pittsburgh region.
Assist candidates with resume development/targeting, gap‑skills analysis, interview preparation, and job search strategies aligned with high‑demand industries in Allegheny County and surrounding counties.
Assess candidate marketability and advise on viable job opportunities, career pathways, and development options within the Pittsburgh labor market, including emerging sectors and regional employer needs.
Support job seekers with LinkedIn® optimization and social‑media self‑marketing to strengthen visibility with Pittsburgh‑area employers and regional recruiters.
Advise job seekers on resume classes, career development modules, and Pittsburgh‑specific training or upskilling programs that improve employability and meet grant‑funded objectives.
Conduct follow‑up communications to ensure candidates receive needed information and support, addressing outstanding questions or concerns and maintaining continuity of service.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices, tools, procedural updates, and Pittsburgh‑area workforce trends.
Adhere to program policies, service standards, and data privacy requirements, including completion of required PII and system training.
Ensure assigned tasks, documentation updates, and follow ups are completed accurately and within established timelines.
Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with organizational and legal requirements.
Maintain professional communication with employers, candidates, team members, and management.
Demonstrate ability to work independently while achieving required outcomes.
Ensure all work is completed thoroughly, including, but not limited to, invoices, reports, and meeting requirements.
