Role- Supply Chain Coordinator (Remote)
Position Summary
The Supply Chain Coordinator role is responsible for executing transactional and follow-up activities that enable Buyer Planners to focus on strategic buying and supply continuity. This position plays a critical role in maintaining supplier communication, ensuring purchase order (PO) accuracy, and supporting material availability through proactive follow-ups and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Order Management & Supplier Communication
- Follow up on daily purchase orders (POs) to suppliers
- Obtain and track PO confirmations to ensure alignment on:
- Delivery dates
- Quantities
- Pricing
- Escalate unconfirmed or delayed responses in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate documentation of supplier commitments
Lead Time & Pricing Maintenance
- Proactively request and update supplier lead times
- Validate and communicate any changes in lead time to Buyer Planners
- Gather and confirm updated pricing from suppliers as needed
- Support data accuracy in ERP system (JDE)
Shortage Management & Expediting
- Support Buyer Planners in managing material shortages
- Proactively follow up with suppliers on past-due or at-risk orders
- Expedite purchase orders based on production priorities
- Provide clear status updates on critical parts
Kanban & Materials System Support
- Create, update, and maintain Kanban cards as ad-hoc
Operational & Administrative Support
- Support ad-hoc supply chain related activities
- Maintain organized records of supplier communications
- Assist with data cleanup, reporting, and system updates
- Collaborate with Buyers, Production, and Planning teams
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or manufacturing support roles
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience working with ERP systems (JDE preferred)
- Understanding of Supply Chain, MRP, or Kanban systems
- Experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment
