The Opportunity

We are building Public Sector Unit into one of the main drivers of eduki's business — the way schools, and in time entire school authorities and ministries, buy and share teaching materials. It's an enormous opportunity, and we're looking for one person to own it end to end.

You'll build this business unit from the ground up and lead it: the strategy, the product direction, the commercial results, and eventually the team. You get to create something new and truly own it — but you do it standing on the shoulders of a proven platform, 3 million+ teachers and a company that's continuously growing. It's the entrepreneurial challenge of a startup without starting from nothing.

You'll be the heart and the brain of this unit.

Conditions: Full-time role, based in Germany, fixed salary (59.800€–75.000€ gross) + stock option package (VSOP).

 

 

Your Impact

As Business Unit Lead – Public Sector (all genders), you turn Public Sector into a real, growing business and make eduki the obvious default choice for how a school buys and shares teaching materials. Your ambition is to make it one of the main drivers of eduki overall. Here's what that looks like day to day:

  • Own the strategy. You decide where we focus, what we test, and what we stop — from how we define the market to how we price, package, and position.
  • Sell and grow revenue. You run real conversations with schools, close deals, and grow revenue hands-on from day one — using your deep understanding of how schools work and decide to turn what you see in the field into sharper segments, positioning, and product direction.
  • Shape the product. You bring the market and commercial perspective to our Product team, giving evidence-based input on what to build next, so schools genuinely need what we offer.
  • Build the foundations. You put the essentials in place — a simple pipeline, core sales and marketing materials, clear reporting, and a playbook others can build on.
  • Connect across eduki. You work closely with Product, Tech, Finance, Legal, and leadership to get what the unit needs, while keeping an eye on the bigger opportunity with school authorities and ministries.
  • Grow the team. Over time, you build and lead a team across Sales, Key Accounts, and Product Marketing — starting by leading through doing.



Your Skills and Expertise

We're looking for a Business Unit Lead – Public Sector (all genders) who is genuinely excited to build a new, important pillar of eduki's business and help us achieve our mission to enhance education. This is the perfect role for you if:

  • You've built something from zero before — a company, a business line, a new market — and you enjoy creating structure where none exists yet.
  • You know German schools inside out. You've sold to and worked with many of them across different federal states, and you understand what actually drives their decisions.
  • You're a skilled negotiator, comfortable navigating institutional buying processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • You think in evidence, not opinions. You've shaped a real business decision — pricing, packaging, or market entry — using data, and convinced leadership to approve it.
  • You build the tools and processes you need as you go, rather than waiting for someone else to set them up.
  • You can use German naturally, speaking and writing on a C2-level. You also feel comfortable communicating in English and working in an international team.

Please note: Due to legal restrictions, we can only hire candidates living in and owning a valid work permit for Germany. eduki is a German company, and you will receive a direct work contract with us according to German work law. 

 

Our Commitment to You

Attractive Compensation Package: The total compensation for this role is up to 86.250 EUR per year and consists of a fixed salary and a VSOP (Virtual Stock Options Program) package. Depending on your skills and competencies, as well as your individual performance, the gross annual salary will range between 59.800 EUR and 75.000 EUR.

In addition to providing the necessary software and hardware, we offer a 500 EUR budget that you can freely use to equip your home office.
Furthermore, you can work from abroad for up to 90 days per year with us!
