Job Summary
This position is responsible for developing Greenbrier's tank wagon business within the chemical, petrochemical, gas and specialty liquids markets while providing specialist technical expertise to support the development and industrialisation of the Company's stainless steel tank manufacturing capability. Acting as the link between customers, Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing, the role translates market requirements into commercially viable and manufacturable tank wagon solutions.


Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Customer Engagement

- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the chemical, petrochemical, gas and specialty liquids markets for Greenbrier's tank wagon portfolio.
- Build and maintain customer relationships to support business growth.
- Lead technical customer engagements and support commercial negotiations.
- Represent Greenbrier at customer meetings and industry events.

Technical Sales & Solution Development
- Provide technical expertise throughout the customer engagement and sales process.
- Develop technical proposals, product specifications and customer presentations.
- Translate customer operational requirements into technically feasible engineering solutions.
- Provide technical guidance throughout the sales process.


Product Development & Industrialisation 
- Provide technical leadership for the development and industrialisation of new tank wagon products, with a primary focus on stainless steel tank solutions.
- Support concept development, engineering validation, prototype testing and production readiness.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Procurement to ensure products meet technical, regulatory and customer requirements.
- Support supplier evaluations and manufacturing process improvements.

Technical Capability Development
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies and market developments to support future product innovation and business growth.
- Share specialist industry knowledge with commercial and engineering teams.
- Provide technical coaching to the European Sales organisation on tank wagon applications and customer requirements.
- Monitor market developments, emerging technologies and industry trends to support future product development.


Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
- Significant experience within heavy engineering, rail, pressure vessel, tank manufacturing or a comparable industrial environment, with strong technical knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in technical business development, customer engagement and the development and industrialisation of engineering products within a B2B manufacturing environment.
- Experience working across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Commercial functions, including preparing technical proposals, supporting customer negotiations and supplier evaluations.
