Business Intelligence Engineer (BPD)

We are looking to add a talented, ambitious, and results-oriented individual to our team as a Business Intelligence Engineer. As part of our team, the individual will have the opportunity to harness the power of data to drive business growth and informed decision-making. The ideal candidate for this role will strive to become an expert in our ERP software, Databricks, Power Automate, Power Apps, and PowerBI providing actionable data insights and improved data accessibility. This role can be remote; the qualified candidate can live anywhere in the contiguous United States.

The Business Intelligence Engineer will support the continuous development of our analytics capabilities by specializing in last-mile pipeline development within Databricks and Azure Data Factory. In this role you will play a crucial role in enabling AI powered technologies within the organization and enhancing productivity through the development of Power Automate workflows and Power Apps. As a key member of our BI team, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines and solutions that drive business value.

This position can be based anywhere in the US near any major airport. 

Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and maintain last-mile data pipelines to ensure seamless extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse sources into PowerBI, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
• Leverage Artificial Intelligence and LLM capabilities to drive business outcomes. Integrate AI capabilities into existing applications and platforms via APIs, batch jobs, and event-driven workflows
• Create visually compelling and insightful dashboards and reports in PowerBI that provide actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization.
• Design and build custom Power Automate/Power Apps solutions to address specific business needs, enhance user experience, and drive user adoption of data-driven applications.
• Integrate machine learning models into data pipelines and frameworks, enabling predictive analytics and advanced insights.
• Implement data quality checks and ensure adherence to data governance standards throughout the data pipeline, from source to visualization.
• Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines in Databricks, PowerBI reports, Power Automate workflows, and Power Apps solutions to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability.
• Provide training sessions and user support to help stakeholders effectively utilize BI tools and applications. Address user feedback and iterate on solutions to improve usability and adoption.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business users, data engineers, and IT professionals, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
• Document data pipelines, workflows, and applications, and share best practices and insights with team members to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within teams.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Databricks SDK and familiarity with Medallion Architecture

• Proficiency in DAX, SQL, Spark,Python and familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., React, JS) is a plus.

• Proficiency in DAX, SQL, Power Query M, and familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements:

• BS/BA is required. Masters is a plus.
• +2 years of business intelligence, data engineering, or related experience with a focus on Microsoft technologies is preferred.
• Proven track record of simplifying large, complex problems with multiple data sources & techniques to reveal data-driven insights & actionable solutions that drive business results.
  • Minimal travel for training or other business needs may be required.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 annually based on education, experience and geographic location. 

Bonus potential: 10%
