We have an opening for an experienced Senior Business Analyst (Technical Environment: Mainframe maintenance and modernization). You'll join a great team; a good personality and strong work ethic are key.

The right candidate is a high-level problem solver with deep technical acumen, exceptional stakeholder management and speaking skills, and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-level system solutions.

This position is remote; however, you must live in the United States (no exceptions) and you must have lived in the U.S. fulltime for three of the last five years.

This position requires:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card (no exceptions, also no 1099, C2C, or recruiters),
  • a background investigation to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance

Job Summary

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will help lead the evaluation, optimization, and transformation of business systems and workflows. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner and primary liaison between business stakeholders and our technical teams. You will be responsible for driving the requirements lifecycle for complex initiatives, identifying strategic process improvements, and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Strategic Requirements Leadership: Lead cross-functional requirements gathering sessions for complex initiatives. Translate high-level business goals into comprehensive functional specifications, technical requirements, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Process Transformation & Gap Analysis: Evaluate enterprise-wide business processes and system architectures to identify critical gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies. Design and proposal scalable, future-state workflow solutions.
  • End-to-End Delivery & QA Oversight: Oversee the functional testing and validation of complex system features. Define user acceptance testing (UAT) strategies and collaborate with others to ensure enterprise deliverables match business requirements.
  • Documentation Excellence & Mentorship: Establish best practices for business documentation, including advanced user stories, use cases, and complex data/process flow diagrams. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior or mid-level analysts on the team.

Qualifications - Required

  • Analyst Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Systems Analyst, 9+ years of total experience.
  • Testing & UAT Leadership: Proven experience defining UAT strategies, writing complex text scenarios, and leading cross-functional teams through validation and system sign-off.
  • Methodologies & Frameworks: Deep expertise in software development lifecycles (SDLC), with extensive experience driving projects within Agile, Scrum, Scaled Agile (SAFe), or hybrid environments.
  • Advanced Communication & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders, negotiate competing priorities, and articulate complex concepts to all audiences.

Qualifications - Preferred

  • Proficiency with Mainframe Technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM.
  • Expert-level proficiency in managing and structuring project spaces within Jira, Confluence, or equivalent enterprise product management suites.
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMI-PBA, or advanced Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe Product Owner / Project Manager).
  • Experience with Medicare or Medicaid systems, insurance, or claims payment systems.

Salary Range

$86,000 - $102,000 annually

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the salary range listed above represents the good-faith compensation range we reasonably expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and internal compensation considerations.

In addition to base salary, employee may be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, which will be discussed during the hiring process. We are committed to providing competitive compensation that reflects the value and contributions of each team member.
