The Business Analyst will conduct market research, gather business requirements, and translate customer insights into actionable software solutions. They will also facilitate Agile development cycles and coordinate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, design, and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Research & Business Analysis
• Conduct market and business analysis to identify opportunities for software solutions and product
improvements.
• Gather and analyze customer feedback, business requirements, user workflows, pain points, and
desired outcomes.
• Research competitor products, feature sets, pricing models, market positioning, and performance
standards.
• Translate market and customer insights into actionable business requirements and recommendations.
• Support product strategy and prioritization by evaluating business value, customer impact, feasibility, and potential risks.
2. Requirements & Software Product Development
• Collaborate closely with engineering, UX/UI, QA, product, and business teams to define and document requirements.
• Develop clear business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria,
process flows, and supporting technical documentation.
• Work with stakeholders to define product scope, priorities, dependencies, and expected outcomes.
• Support the development of product roadmaps, sprint plans, release timelines, and implementation plans.
• Ensure requirements remain aligned with technical feasibility, customer needs, quality standards, and business objectives.
• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle from discovery and requirements gathering through testing, release, and post-launch improvement.
3. Agile Delivery & Project Coordination
• Support and facilitate Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Monitor project and sprint progress, identify blockers, dependencies, and risks, and coordinate timely resolution with relevant stakeholders.
• Serve as a central communication point for requirements, updates, milestones, issues, and decisions.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive project and product documentation.
• Use tools such as Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms to manage requirements, workflows, and delivery activities.
• Help ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet agreed business and quality requirements.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with software engineers, UX/UI designers, QA professionals, product stakeholders, and business leaders.
• Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure a common
understanding of requirements and priorities.
• Coordinate feedback, decisions, dependencies, and action items across multiple teams.
• Promote collaboration, transparency, continuous feedback, and iterative improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support teams in resolving ambiguity and translating business needs into practical technical solutions.
5. Customer Focus & User-Centric Solutions
• Develop a strong understanding of customer workflows, pain points, business objectives, and desired outcomes.
• Advocate for customer needs throughout the product development process.
• Translate customer requirements into clear functional specifications and actionable development
priorities.
• Evaluate proposed solutions from the perspective of usability, scalability, business value, and customer impact.
• Gather and incorporate customer and stakeholder feedback to support continuous product
improvement.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
• Present requirements, product concepts, roadmaps, recommendations, and project updates to internal teams and external clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Manage expectations by communicating scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and changes clearly and proactively.
• Demonstrate active listening, empathy, and sound judgment when working with diverse stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear and understandable business language.
7. Product & Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve software products, business processes, workflows, and customer experiences.
• Analyze operational and product data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Recommend process and product enhancements based on business needs, customer feedback, and data-driven insights.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects that contribute to company-wide
objectives.
• Contribute to the development of best practices for requirements management, documentation,
stakeholder engagement, and product delivery.
Required Experience
• 8+ years of experience in business analysis, product management, product ownership, or a related role within a software development environment.
• Proven track record of contributing to or delivering SaaS, web, mobile, or enterprise software products.
• Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and translating complex business requirements into actionable technical requirements.
• Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional software development teams.
• Experience working directly with customers, clients, or senior business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum
methodologies.
Required Technical & Functional Skills
• Strong understanding of software development concepts, SDLC, APIs, cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and modern software development frameworks.
• Proficiency with Agile/Scrum practices and project management or product development tools such as Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Strong requirements analysis, process mapping, user story development, acceptance criteria, and
documentation skills.
• Ability to understand technical architecture and communicate effectively with software engineers and other technical professionals.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate business needs, data, risks, dependencies, and
potential solutions.
• Ability to develop clear presentations, reports, process flows, roadmaps, and business documentation.
